kevob Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 does anyone know the cause of the accident? was it equipment failure or lack of experience (not ment in a derogatory way) i think the manufacturers have got a lot to answer for claiming their kites to be safe, total depower etc. Quote
Draggin Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Our condolences to his family, this is something nobody wants to see in their sport, a very sad day. Tim & family Quote
Lem Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 I understand what you're saying kevob, but kitesurfing like a like of sports does carry an inherent risk. What I guess you may be getting at is that that unlike climbing or paragliding etc., these risks may not be immediately obvious. With all these sports, the risk can be minimised by training and improvements to hardware but you can never eliminate it. It's very easy to get caught out even you think you have everything covered, as appears to have been the case with this tragic accident. Quote
kevob Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 i suppose its a good a way to go as any doing something you love, it just a shame for those left behind dealing with all the shock and trauma does anyone know how old he was? Quote
