Patch1599968828 Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Err Yeah OK Err mmm shall we move on? Hows that buggy coming? Quote
frayz Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Err Yeah OK Err mmm shall we move on? Hows that buggy coming? Unfortunately not much more to report Patch. I can however tell you that the buggy once built will be going to be tested in controlled conditions at a motorsport proving facility. This will basically give us actual data on the stresses, loadings and strains various parts of the buggy can undergo. This is done by many race teams and will allow us to see where we might need to add material for strength, or also lose some material in order for us to save some weight. So quite interesting in my opinion. This will certainly not overlook the fact it will need to be tested by real riders, so will be needing pilots. Any takers? Thanks for your interest Patch Quote
Stupid Dave Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Good to hear its going to be put through its paces in a controled way. If you would like it tested in a less controled way im sure if can get it over to me and Will we can give it a good testing for you mate. Also should be able to get hold of some strain gauges from uni that we can wire up and test it whilst in use. Quote
Ginge Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 cant wait to see what it comes out like! Will be interesting to see how it stands up to a braced flexi buggy! Its good this is being done........ the freestyle buggy is long due an upgrade! as for testing...... ^^^^^^ stupid lands hard and he's good at falling out the sky.... (haha dave) so if you need anything distruction tested then send it to us Quote
frayz Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 You know you two fairys will be getting one to play with. Good call on the strain gauges too Dave. Quote
Patch1599968828 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 dont think I could do it justice. Unless you need a fat b****** to try to break it lol Quote
frayz Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 Not about justice mate. This will be built and designed by riders, for the riders. Youre as important as the rest of us fella Quote

Junior Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 oi frayz, maybe if its down the plymouth way i could give it a couple runs up and down too? just to see if its easy enough for a kitesurfer such as myself to ride maybe? xx Quote
fat Old Whimp Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 So are you building a tuff buggy with fancy joints or do you actually have some design philosophy going on? Quote
frayz Posted December 7, 2009 Author Report Posted December 7, 2009 No worries Fred, soon as i have one you guys will have one to play with too. Its being designed with plenty of thought mate, its not just going to be heavy duty. Its going to be designed to be stronger than we've ever had before, and lighter too. I dont want to say too much till i have something to show you. Quote
encona1599968593 Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 can we have a preview date maybe even push for a timing plan ?? Quote
frayz Posted December 7, 2009 Author Report Posted December 7, 2009 Wish i could mate. However, till X-works can get time to get back on it its tough for me to say. I'll try and get you some feedback and we'll go from there Quote
