Hi guys

The forcast for this weekend is looking good with fresh to strong westerly winds forcast tomorrow (BOM site), there are 2 football games on, starting from 12 noon, so if anyone is up for an early session before they turn up on the top oval (0800, wind pending) let me know as I know I'll be up for it :good: .

I've jumped the gun here, the missus needs the car in the morning, so I'm also looking for a lift if possible :dontknow:, worst case i'll be there around lunch time and with any luck all day Sunday.

I'm keen but 8am might be a little early. I got room in my Jeep for you and your bug. The catch is that i have been dealing with a migraine for the past few days so I'll just see how I feel in the morning. I'll call you when Im up and at'em.

Either way i will be making use of the wind. :clapping:

Gav harden up mate the wind is a blowin :D, on a serious note I hope you feel better today as the day is looking good, already blowing 25-38 kph from the North :dance3: .

Hey Jonesy Im at Lithgow, I to took advantage of that blow on saturday, had local football ground to myself from 10am until about 2 pm.

Had a blast gusts were so mental I had to go small, used my Bullet 1.5, had enough power to pull slides coming out of jibes.

Sunday was certainly an eye-opener for me. The (lack of) wind made me decide not to take the buggy, but rather to pack a couple of kites and do some static flying. I took the Demo Manta 3 and the 3M PL Twister out for a spin. Even though it was fimne and sunny, the ground felt damp all afternoon. Got the Twister out and it surprised me with its pull in the fluky winds (it made me regret not going to pick up the buggy).

Andy and Stu were grounded in the middle of the oval when arrived. Stu had Andy's new 12M Speed 3 in hand and it sure is a spectactular kite. I'm sure Andy has some whistles attached to the lines - you can't sneek up on anyone when flying that golden beauty. :D

Andu then brought out his 2M Zebra - its bright orange bridle doesn't get lost in the background. Again, a great kite to have when the winds pick up.

Met a new flyer who was trying to convert his Slingshot 2 line to a four line - Andy lent him some handles and he never looked back. The grin on his face was unmistakable (another kiting tragic has been born).

If I could remember everybody's name I'd list them here, but there were 7 of us out there on Sunday.

And a very big thanks to andy for the loan of the those handles, and as I sit here at work looking at all the wind out the window I'm thinking i should have called in sick :wall2::wall:

.... Clean undies, kite AND buggy are essential equipment Bob.... :blind:

.... But i guess you know that now.... :mosking: ... :D

It was certainly an up and down sort of day ....but a lot more usable than the day before's unpredictable gusty effort.....

.....the oval was all ours and the most had to be made of it..... :D

'snot whistles attached Bob.... it's the looooovvvve you can hear echoing off the canopy :air_kiss::isohappy::pardon: ...whatta kite..... :D

And it's been fantastic to fly in the not-so-good conditions we've had since I picked it up from Jason at the Briskites shop on our way through from Yeppoon to Surfers recently.....

thanks heaps Jas ... :drinks: ... it's awesome.... :D as is your shop.... :yes3:

It was great to get in and have a poke around and have a chat and a giggle.. :friends: ...you guys rock...

Have to agree with you there Bob.. :agree: ... I bought this kite (again from Briskites...thanks guys) as a replacement high wind fixed bridled kite...(since I landed a jump on my previous tool for the job and tearing two cells to shreds... ) and have not looked back.

The first time I had the Zebra 2.5 out was at Yeppoon ....for the family to fly....

My wife :firstmove: ..who has never flown before... decided something that good looking had to be attached to something just as good looking .........and had her first flight... :dance4: .........

I was sooo happy...her first flight....won't be long now....mmuuwhhaahaaaa.. :diablo: ..she too will be hooked.....

Our friends Karen and Dolly, also new to kites, were next in line and had a ball learning how to fly with such a predictable, stable, precise kite...certainly was easy to teach on... :D

Then my 13 yr old daughter showed them how it was really done....she's got "the touch" when it comes to kites :agree: (and fishing  ) and put on a great show for them... ... she loved it . :P ... I hope I don't "loose" it..:eek::D

for the price, I was astonished at the quality of the Zebra , the performance and especially the ease of use to newer flyers this kite was in the low wind conditions at yeppoon on the day....

very much looking forward to stretching it's legs in a bigger blow...:clapping:

Ok Guys the wind is up and the rain is holding off for the moment so I'm heading out shortly and plan to be there for the day weather depending, see ya there :dance3: .

Sorry Marty. Next time maybe? I arrived to see the boys packing up because it had started to rain. I stuck around for half an hour or so chatting but in the end decided that it wasn't really worth getting a kite up. The weather was horrible so the pic I could have got is of some storm clouds :(

Yeah was a good afternoon.

unfortunatly Andy had to leave early to go to work but was nice enough to leave his new kite with me, so I made the most of it. :crazypilot: Thanks heaps Andy.............by the way you better check the bag when you get it back, cause it may have my dirty laundry in it LOL..... :D

Bob if I don't see you at the oval before hand I'll see you at the social night with your plus three
