  6. don't get to fly enough - in york at the mo, there is either no wind, or it's raining, or i am at work, and after work it is dark:( weekends have been rubbish for kiting recently
  7. can someone explain to me what wind is, i seem to have forgotten.
  8. 1.Your name Helena 2. Your age 21 3. Where do you live York 4. Describe yourself little, too organised, a bit mad, passionate about a lot of things... 5. What makes you happy the knowledge that i have met my soulmate 6. What makes you angry people who lie, selfish ignorant fools - people who don't give a crap about the world in which we live in and the creatures who share it with us. 7. How do you spend your spare time(like we don’t know!) well, kiting, being with my boyfriend, seeing close friends and family, finding new things to do, and at the moment, being excited at me and my boyf getting our first place together... 8. Favourite place in the world so far... the highlands of Scotland (& Skye) and also my bed! 9. What’s your best kite samurai 4m 10 Your most prized possession(apart from your best kite!) i would say Chris, my boyfriend, if he doesn't mind me calling him a possession!! 11. Favourite food and drink food - love lasagne and other Italian dishes. oh and those little sausages wrapped in bacon that you get at Christmas. drink - water because we would be dead without it, but something like a jd and coke or a good wine if we're talking alcohol 12. What is your favourite website this one 13. Most embarrassing moment can't think of one that i want everyone to know about!! 14. Proudest moment i am thinking about this one... dunno yet 15. Who do you most admire i admire people who stick to decent morals, people who treat others like they want to be treated themselves 16. Your dream job a marine biologist working somewhere with exotic sea-life (why am i studying psychology again?!) 17. Worst/first/best memories worst - when my mum rang me while i was in a lecture to tell me that our black labrador who i have grown up with had been put down - first - a strange dream about a big scary log with a deep shouty voice and a little tinkly pink fairy who was nice to me - best - hmmmm, that's private 18. What would you like to appear on your headstone. i don't know. i want someone else to write it.
  9. It's completely up to the newb, what size kite they start with - as has already been said, noone HAS to take anyone else's advice - would you eat the contents of a toilet?! But there's no harm in listening to advice and considering it if you think it might apply to you. It's just whatever people feel comfortable with for a starter kite. I think it's best to learn from others' experience as you might avoid the same mistakes happening to you. As for starting with an 8.5 Blade... there is NO WAY I COULD do that, but for a strong bloke, if they can manage it, up to them! just so long as there's enough safety awareness for other people -as has also already been said EACH TO THEIR OWN:o
  10. i'd definately buy it! i also think there should be more kiting posters out there, while we're on the marketing subject!
  11. Seeing as I only have two of my own kites at the mo, I can't see me selling either! To be honest, I'll probably always keep them anyway. I want to build up a big collection!!
  12. you could try extremezonesports. i got my samurai for a good price from there - didn't find a brand new one cheaper anywhere else.
  13. like a nice ozone sticker for example? (i have on of these on my car window) - they come when you buy a kite - not sure about free ones i'm afraid!
  14. i dont *personally* leave the toilet seat up, no, but as for the engineering girls that were rubbish at the verbal tasks that girls are usually good at.... who knows??!!! i doubt it though... this experiment was in a way rather speculative, as really, you'd need to work out exactly which areas of the brain are responsible for certain tasks in males and females and see if girls and boys were showing the opposite effects while doing the tasks to see if they had typically opposite brain gender to what you'd expect in that brain region - this is known but i didnt have access to posh brain imaging equipment while doing my dissertation. ANYWAY.... i reckon no girl leaves loo-seat up - this is purely a "bloke" behaviour, engraved deep in the brains of men from the beginning of time (or loo seats...lol) :D
  15. you have seen that video?! it inspried my psychology dissertation - i did this for my psychology dissertation with degree subjects that were typically dominated by males/females and made males and females from each do tests that males and females were meant to be best at. i.e. made male and female engineers do spatial and verbal tasks, and made male and female english lit students do spatial and verbal tasks. males are typically best at the spatial task and females at the verbal task. however, all the engineering students were ****e at the verbal task, regardless of gender, and all the english lit students were ****e at the verbal task - my hypothesis was that depending on whether you have a more typically male or female brain, would effect your life choices, such as degree subject. dont know if anyone understands this brief outline. my dissertation was 8000 words long - was actually very intersting but dont think i'll post on here!
