Probably a good idea, but it depends on what the goals would be. The kiting world appears fragmented enough so you'd have to be sure there's a real purpose for a group before starting another one.
In terms of organising meets, publicising issues and promoting a sense of community amongst kiters then great. Maybe this is where Owain's site could get its big break: http://www.tractionkiting.co.uk/
For representation, to the local council for example, it might be better if we could appear more national rather than local. It doesn't seem to be so bad in Scotland, but there are plenty problems in Engerland with locally negotiated access and, in the extreme, 'club only' beaches.
