  1. What's he building in there?
  2. efff, I'm familiar and in touch with the park management at Heaton Park. We've never had any any trouble or bans to date. Please be as understanding as possible with the rangers requests and I will arrange a meet if required with all relevant bodies to sort it. I've always used the main field (soon to be lost to Oasis for a brief period) and with a bit of diplomacy I'm sure we can use it again. Don't react too soon without a chat please? Paul.
  3. Yep, will need to find my kites again from the bottom of the pile of stuff in the garage. Heres hopin'
  4. Was that good? Gutted to have missed it, was looking forward it as well Yeah was great fun. Did the Monsal Trail today. Absolutely beautiful walk and amazing views from Monsal Head. Good pub too Laurie walked over 12 miles without a pre-teenage moan aswell. :)
  5. Sympathise Bobby, I had to take a day off work to recover from the 21 miler Me, Matt & Rob walked a couple of weeks ago. I was in agony for days. Nice pain though
  6. Was at Williamson Park in Lancaster on Sunday and there are some fantastic views over Middleton sands etc. from the Ashton Memorial Well worth a visit and a wander around on a sunny day
  7. I'm sure just chatting to the blowcart users will sort any mis-understaning about rules of beach/sailing etc. in the first place. I've spoken to them a few times and the people I spoke to where friendly enough. I fancy a go too! They do need insurance permits like us but as Mike said a group of them are youngsters with Sefton Services so they may not be the best sailors etc.
  8. Butty bar is good but closes Sat about 2pm and not open Sundays. It's just on the same block of shops as the Spar which is right next to Ainsdale Station. You can eat in or take out. It's called 'The Filling Station' I think.
  9. Yep, will be down 3pm ish if anyone still there, going to see 'Another Place' first down the beach
  10. What's a kite leash? Was good today first time in ages. Not a lot of wind but it was in the right direction. May do tomorrow too.
  11. Maybe if I don't get there today, trying to finish a few things and go this afternoon I've forgotten what sand looks like and there's none left in my car!
  12. Cheers Jon, I knew Matt had resigned so was just wondering who from AOSPKC was on the Panel. I was also wondering about the 100m thing (rule 9). That's an awful lot of beach to loose suddenly when the tide gets within 100m. Does the 100m extend from the dunes or the car park limit?
  13. Hi all, Think I might take a trip down to watch the buggy & blo-kart racing, it should be cool assuming the wind plays ball. Just out of interest who is on the Kite Zone User Panel? Thanks, Paul
  14. Saturdays looking promising so far crossed fingers etc.
  15. That will be cool, time to blag a go on a friendly blo-job.
  16. Did any of you lot get to the beach over weekend? Looked like an OK Westerly Saturday but couldn't make it. In fact is the 'dale still there because it's all but disappeared from my memory
  17. Nah! 35mph SW not my idea of Ainsdale at it's best hehe.
  18. Don't you need another VM package to create the virtual mavhine in the firstplace though? I thought vmware player just managed and ran multiple VMs.
  19. Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 is OK, there are other free virtual pc products out there but if you're just testing IE then it'll do. No support for USB though so don't use it if you need usb devices to be seen within the VPC. Virtual Box is another free package and that does support USB I think! When you setup the vpc software on the host you have to then install the operating system on a vpc you create, if your installing XP or Vista on it then IE will be installed with the OS.
  20. Holts used to make a Regal Lager, discusting lager but a palindrome though!
  21. Happy January then, more wind please
  22. Been decorating Anyone still alive?
  23. Yeah they were fantastic, we saw them at the Apollo so the venue was quite small, and we were close to front. Friend saw them at the MEN arena on Friday and said it was too big a venue for them.
  24. Anyone into the Mighty Boosh, saw them Tuesday, Fantastic
  25. Dee, Laurie and I both have Sqiers and they DO stay in tune ok and yes they are cheap n cheerful but they are good for starting out. Laurie (who's 11) can play some pretty good stuff on his and doesn't struggle with it at all. The amp is not gonna be brill but the ones that came with our kits sound pretty good and are fine for bedroom/living room playing. No they are not gonna be any use for a gig but I assume that's not what you want it for. One thing I would definitely get is a tuner though, unless Dad's got a spare one? A few on here seem to be forgeting your budget! ps Think yourself lucky, Laurie is after a drumkit for Christmas
