  1. It's cool. No bans that I know of. Bring it on
  2. Last night I watched the sun set and had a BBQ on the beach. The hardship is only matched by finding out this week the value of my investment funds that I made 20 years ago and forgot about. :D
  3. Well come on over and have a session . . .
  4. Do you fly down here much? Newgale is great beach . . .
  5. Take a look here. Long beaches, steady wind, surf - Oh it's so hard here?
  6. Well hello to you too. My, hasn't you post count gone up. You must be at it full time!!! I've moved to the coast you see, and a Welsh coast it is too. So I have less access to 'tinternet than I once had. I have my own house here now so I guess I might get more chance to play. Summer and beaches keep me off the 'puter as well. I've been asked to join a sea rowing crew today, how good is that! Anyway, better get to work . . . Cheers Steve OH
  7. Dude, That is most helpful, cheers.
  8. Nope, not me. I got it from my shop.
  9. Thnks to all of you for this. I have a new PL harness designed for buggys, a cool spreader with a pully that has 360 degrees of spin. So, the loops at the back of the drive lines attach to the strop. I still can't see how the Velcro helps, it's at a silly angle and if the wind gusts-a-bit rips out. I'll try it out tonight and aim to keep out of A and E. It would be good if some arty type did a picture showing dumb old gits like me the set up of this kind of thing. It came with zero instructions or set up info - which could lead to the death of a disco dancer . . .
  10. Well here I am with a new harness and spreader. I've set that up fine, BUT how do a use the floppy thing to join my two handles?????? Also, any tips on flying a buggy with a harness will be very welcome. El Duderinos
  11. And here is the review for those who can't be arsed to go to the link. Review : Kinnell Katana Company : Kinnell Author : Ted Hedonist Ok where to begin, this is my first out and out race kite only having flown the razor. The razor is all I have to compare it to. When taken out of the bag staked it out and run back to grab the handles in only what must have a 10 mph I found I had no brakes. After some what sheepishly taking a full ten inches off the brake lines I try again. The power from this kite in light winds is considerable, so I ran to the beach and quickly gave it to my lightweight friend who was scudding all over the beach and buggied it. He liked what he called the directness of power through the window. Following day 20 mph winds off I go back to the field behind my favourite beach buggy and board in tow. Plant the kite at the zenith of the window sits in buggy and is promptly pulled out sideways. So I put the kite back to the zenith and was moving it across the top of the window in no more than 20 feet each side of the zenith. Remembering I'm 17 seventeen stone this kite was giving me ten foot air on each jump. A beautiful thing to look at bright red with a yellow half moon at the back edge another benefit the two end cells have Velcro on the tail edge for emptying sand and water(good idea if like me you end up face downing the sand some of the time). The handles are exceptionally solid no chance of losing your strop loop like some kites I could mention. This kite comes into its own when your on a straight run on the beach at low tide the pull is astounding after working the kite to get moving then sitting it in the window I was hitting speeds of 30mph. (thanks the sea for extra braking when required). Sliding is easy although you feel it wants to pull you forward out of your buggy. I haven't flown any other race kite except the razor but I expect if anyone is flying the Kinnell Katana in the super cup series that this kite is going to win a race or two. A beautiful piece of kit but and I must stress this most vehemently this is not a beginners kite, it is a race kite and should be respected as such. And I know I have left a strip of skin 9 inches long on the side of my buggy when in motion I tried to spin it round downwind. oops, I forgot the lines well the 3.5 comes with 300lbs on the control lines and 200 I think as the brakes. I wouldn't have bought this kite normally but after much consideration and talking and coffee with David at extreme zone sports I will not be looking back I love this kite and add it to growing kinnell kite bag.
  12. Well I've ordered one now. I was told it's easier to fly that some top end race kites but does perform very well. I had a bit of extra discount too by saying that I would report back on how I felt the beast performs. I've gone for a 4.5 Mtr package and the new harness from Libra. I'll let you know how the thing flys. Cheers for the info anywho.
  13. Some chap is telling me that I ought to get a Catana?? next, about a 4.5 Mtr. I have never seen one of these beasts, can someone let me know if I should go down this route? or is it a big pile of pooh?
  14. I live is St Davids and buggy on this beach. There is no ban. Beach is used by Kite Surfers, boarders and buggys. Watch out for the bog beast of Ramsey
  15. What the hell is wrong with being old? And why does one always put fart next to old? It's just not right and I feel the need to put you young pups right. I'm old and I fart no more or no less then my younger (and less gifted) co-kiters. I know many older dudes (me include) who often kick the arse of younger males who soon learn to respect said wiser dudes. I continue to pull chicks younger chaps can only dream of. Current bint is many years my junior, blond and a size 10. Smoke me young bucks. I work for an outdoor adventure company on the coast and regularly surf, kayak, climb and all other stuff too. So, zip up your flappy traps about buggy riding being the preferred chariot for older people 'cos they aren’t up to riding a skate board and looking like Ronald McDonald. Real men do it when the rest are only dreaming of it.
  16. I feel the need to fight you! Those who know, know why . . .
  17. I'm in the process of getting my next kite. Buggy usage. I have my small kites but now the summer is on the way I need a bigger kite, 5 to 7M . . . So . . . Blade 4.9 Bullet 5.5 Razor 5(ish) Any other ideas? Hurry, I feel the need to buy!!!
  18. Hi Dave, I will get down about 11 then. Steve (other Steve) will be there about 1 ish. Bring some gloves and a big hat, the wind is cold . . . Steve
  19. It's the weekend and we have SUN AND WIND FORECAST!!!!. I have checked out the area today and can report the following:- =Dog owners don't like wind chill =Some twats have been riding a motorbike over the field. When they ran over my lines I had to kick some arse. they will not do it again! =Gloves work! =The ground is hard, so fast rides So, I have check it out. There is no reason not to turn up over the week end and carve some turf. I will be there both days let me know if you are coming to play. . . S
  20. This weekend I'm off to the coast for a blast. Last Sunday was the best day I've had out yet. Arms killing all day yesterday. I will be out next weekend. See you soon. Steve

  24. Thank you for the Camera information. What I meant was:- ‘WHERE ARE THE PEOPLE IN WORCESTER WHO WANT SPEED CANERAS’ I know the law, do-gooders and pressure groups (and the like) but what ‘real’ people? I can’t find anyone who thinks the cameras are there to save lives. They think they are there to make money, revenue, dosh, spondulies, bread, tax, riches, wealth, vast sums, mountains of gold, kings ransom, something for a rainy day etc. etc. Reality Vs Politically correct arse would be another way I guess. So, the work starts from now.
  25. Hi DAve I went for a blast today with my LD. Well I feck/purp/D'ohed my way all over the field . . . See you at the weekend. Steve
