  1. havent tried the snowblades but have used skis and boards, if you have never done it before, you really should get some lessons, it really is amazing how much you can pick up in a couple of hours, it also may prevent you getting from getting hurt when you do it with the kite, and yes i did find skis easier to learn on.
  2. i wouldnt know, i never head up that way, though the averon river isnt bulging so i dont expect the blackwater to be either
  3. i was up at the first sign of snow, but it was only a light covering, (looked nice from a distance though) and not really worth the effort, snow has left for the time being, bloody rain though im looking for more as soon as possable
  4. the springs on mine are equal length, and i have found it far too stiff with the eggs inside the springs in the outer position and the board comes with 4 elastomers for the springs so you have 2 missing and the board will turn downwind (left?) a lot easier than it will turn upwind see here for the kava manual, http://www.flexifoil.com/downloads/im/Kite%20Landboards%20%20instructions.pdf
  5. i bought boots/board/bindings second hand for £150 on ebay last year, for a beginner anything would do for mucking about on as long as you get a suitable board
  6. you can go to the download section here and get a manual for the boards, im sure it will help your needs
  7. yup it would be in the right wind, just look out for it getting snowballs in the ends.
  8. who is doing the kitesurfing in montenegro shoot?
  9. with it being less than a year old, it should be covered in the warranty (trucks included), i would give flexi the chance to put this right before dumping it and getting a silver reef as far as consumer law goes, "goods must be fit for the purpose for which you are buying them" hence if you buy a jumping board then it shouldnt fall apart after jumping with it for more info you can look here http://www.oft.gov.uk/Consumer/Your+Rights+When+Shopping/default.htm good luck to ya
  10. here u go cheeky http://www.moviecodec.com/codecdownload/indeo.shtml this dude is mad, but i do like the jump

    Kite Killaz

windthings sell the flexi killers for a tenner, or handles and killers for 25 http://windthings.co.uk/ProductsList.aspx?CategoryID=5&parentid=PowerandTraction
  12. send me a pm, maybe we can arrange a meet
  13. invergordon academy fields the usual place, as its close, we are usually there when its windy
  14. im in Invergordon, there are 3 of us here, we also have a mate from balintore who fly`s with us, let me know if we are close enough
  15. the price for repair depends on the amount of work needed, but rest assured they do make a spot on job with the repairs, i was lucky that i still had the 1 month fre repair so i never paid, and that was for the bridle, there have been others on here that have had kites with burst cells etc and they havent paid much, as i say it depends on the amount of work needed
  16. there are more than a few beaches up north, and most are quiet with not many pedestrians/sunbathers, Thurso, Dornoch, Nairn etc, though i would recommend Thurso, just a few miles out of town there is a lovely beach at dunnet bay, ideal for surfing, kiting, buggy etc, also there is plenty of pubs to keep warm in at night, the locals are friendly, the scenery is cool, the only problem is, its at the far north of scotland and the midges are vicious
  17. you shouldnt heat the pipe as it will more than likely fold at the bend, use a hydrolic pipe bender with the correct radius former and you get no creases in the pipe
  18. i have only seen that fraying on my main lines when they get snagged over a fence or the odd bush

    Ld 2.1

i am thinking along the lines of a 4.5 bullet or a 6m LD for the days with light winds, and am wondering which would pull the most in the same wind eg 5-15mph, bearing in mind that it will be getting used for snowboarding as well or maybe i just get them both

    what to buy?

as you can already fly then go for the 4m blade, canna go wrong with that

    what to buy?

i cant comment on the pkd buster, but the firebee is a good kite for the money, and if fitted with power rings it can do anything a blade can (nearly), and at half the price as to your weight ,i would advise a 3m kite as it will be your first one. my mate is 13st and regularly gets lifted up 3-6ft with his 3m firebee in a moderate wind the firebee isnt your only option, there are the busters, eolo radsails and symphonys in the same price range. oh and dont forget to learn to fly in a light wind
  22. im planning on getting myself a harness and was wondering what is preffered and why, the roller or the hook?

    Kite upgrade

forgot about the nasawing, also a good cheap alternative whatever kite you do get, just remember there is a hell of a lot more power in these kites compared to the stackers, but for the price of them you could get a 4m for the stronger winds and a 7-9m kite for the lighter winds, as 1 kite is never gonna be enough:D

    Kite upgrade

how about a 4m or 5.5m rhombus firebee? dirt cheap and loads of fun, though they do have to be worked a bit more than the blade, and loads of people here will recommend them
  25. the tyres do come in a variety of sizes, so i presume there will be some that fit a flexi standard rim, wouldnt hurt to phone and ask though. i dont buggy yet so i cant say for sure. i just found some nice tyres as i am looking to build my own
