  1. Hi All, Does anyone meet up at wormwood scrubs anymore (the park not the prison)? There used to be a regular tuesday night session that was started by the London Beach Store guys. I went up there tonight, for first time in a couple of years, but there wasn't a soul up there. Did the meet die when the beach store closed down? I had a great couple of hours up there....15 to 20mph wind & grass all recently mown. If anyone wants to kick off a regular tues evening meet at the scrubs again, I'd be up for it. Let me know if anyone's interested - or point me to another meet time at the scrubs...flying is always more fun when its not just one....and I really really want to learn some new tricks/moves & ain't getting anywhere on my own! cheers guy.

Hi there, could you give me a rough idea of price you are looking for? cheers guy

OK - thanks for letting me know - sounds like I'll be too heavy for it... Let me know if you decide to sell the components instead - I'd possibly be interested in taking everything but the board cheers g.

Hi Gordo, Sorry, forgot to add to last post: In the first picture I can't quite tell, but it looks like the grip tape is worn through - is that the case, or just an artefact of the photo? cheers Guy

Hi Gordo, Are the vital statistics - length etc etc. the same as the current model (shown at: http://www.kite-deck.com/board-nxs.html). I'm 14 1/2 stone & 6'1" - you mentioned that this might only be a 10ply. Is this going to be too flexible for me (e.g. bottoming out in a heavy landing etc.)? Can you tell me how old it is? cheers guy.
  6. Hi There, Is the complete board still for sale? g.
  7. Hi Flyaway, I've just PM'ed you, cheers guy
  8. Hi Joe, I have just PM'ed you, cheers guy
  9. LOL many thanks guys - OK I'm definitely going to start looking in the 140-150 range now and avoid the Viper 160. Also went down to local kiteshop today and asked - pretty much had the same response as everyone here: that I shouldn't bother with 160, as will be pain to lug around and I won't get as much out of it as the newer 140/145 boards. They were recommending North and Slingshot (but guess they would say that, being north and slingshot dealers).....Gonna try and find a s/hand naish board.... thanks again guys...I'll post with whatever I get (& how I get on with it..) g.
  10. Hi All, I'm in the market for a second hand kiteboard, but struggling to find much information on what boards to try to go for, given my size/ability etc. Here's my profile: 1. I'm 6'1" and around 14 stone 2. I'm a kite land boarder with a 13m Guerilla2 (and various smaller kites), which I want to start using on the water. 3. For the last couple of years I've had about 8 hours on the water (just taking lessons), and last time (about a year ago) was getting up, planing and basic turning/tacking - so I'm a beginner but not total total beginner. 4. I'm going for two weeks down to dorset close to a couple of good kitesurfing spots, so this year I want to have my own kit, but as I'm unlikely to get out to the coast much for rest of year, I want to spend as little as possible on a board...which I may flog again after the holiday.... Any advice much much appreciated, particularly on: 1. board length (if I go for a 160+ cm board, am I going to regret it quite quickly? If I go for something around 140-150, will I biting off more than I can chew) 2. Brunotti boards (there's a 160 Viper on ebay at moment for example) - I remember one of my kitesurf instructors slagging them off a couple of years ago - anyone any experience of these more recently? 3. Naish Haze / Slingshot Drake (both around 145 - seem to have same kind of descriptions). 4. Any other boards I should look out for... Any advice would be hugely appreciated, cheers guy
  11. Thanks Jedd - I think i'll try to make it on sunday afternoon (i'll be flying a blade2 6.5 with a kava board). g.
  12. I went to Richmond park for first time last w/end (normally wormwood scrubs for me - the parkland, not the prison). I was at the playing fields at the Roehampton Gate entrance. It was great, but had to wait a little while for teams playing on the pitches to clear. Does anyone know what the best time to go down there is, to avoid mowing down rugby players? Also, is there any where else in Richmond park that's suitable for landboarding or any regular buggy/boarder haunts and meets? cheers, guy.
  13. hi mabster, you can try my 6.4m vps if you're in london - I haven't had it out in good enough wind to really get to grips with it yet (I only did the re-bridling just after xmas). I generally fly at Wormwood Scrubs on the weekends if there's wind and no rain.... g.
  14. Hi Mabster, here is a mock-up of how what a fifth line could look line. VPS Kite Killer idea Forgive the rather the sketchy looking bridle! The picture uses wolfman's terminology. This should work, but may just be altogether too much hassle, too much drag and too many lines to get tangled in etc. Like the flysurfer kites wolfman mentions, has anyone tried taking the delimiters off altogether to see how much the kite collapses when you depower or how otherwise unstable this makes it? g.
  15. Hi Flying wolf, I tried a kite killer on the front lines as well - this is much better than on the back lines (and it doesn't spin as much), but the kite is still quite well powered up (half of it anyway) - The VPS on full depower (e.g. just flying on the front lines) is still equivalent to a 4m kite (I believe), so half of it still retains it's shape with a fair bit of pull, when the kite killer keeps tension in one of the front lines. i tried in v.low winds, and may have another go in higher winds to see whether or not it's worse than just letting go! I was thinking, like Stevelives and skytiger, of putting brake bridle back on - but this may be too much bridling adding drag to the kite. What I'm definitely going to try is rigging up the fifth line to one of the tips going through a plastic ring at the limiter and again at the bar, and then on to my harness, or wrist strap. I'll try this with some really lightweight line and if it's too much of a drag on the kite (or too much line to get tangled in) I'll abandon the idea of a last resort safety system. I think the main drawback is going to be not being able to unspin twisted lines after a jump (1of the reasons I really like the bar + chicken loop set-up). g.
