  1. I agree a blade III 8.5 they are a wicked low wind kite. The 7.8 Blade II with or without vps is also a good choice slower than the 8.5 but it still has loads of pull and lift in the right conditions. PS. I have a Blade II 7.8 for sale Nearly new (still crispy) also a brand new still in original wrappings vps kit and bar. will possibly split. looking for about £330 for both including uk p&p
  2. It's already been said but ATB and jump and scud = blade buggy and scud = bullet. Having said that you can buggy with a blade and you can board with a bullet, but IMHO the Blade is the better for the board .... more lift = more stability and balance. The bullet is the better for the buggy Fast and manouverable and not too much lift so you don't get lifted out of buggy so easily if you make a mistake. I suppose to be honest the best all-rounder in my opinion has to be the blade but it may need more care in the buggy to avoid being a victim of this kites awesome lift. Whatever you decide .. have fun and stay safe.
  3. I got my 8.5 quite quickly but still waiting for the 6.6 ordered at the same time. tum te tum ........ they say patience is a virtue......... No-One said I was virtuous!!!!!!!!!
  4. Agree with the previous poster Keep all receipts for anything to do with this incident do not throw away the coats until the police have finished with any enquiries / court case, and good clear photos of the damage to coats, kite and especially your leg could prove invaluable. Best of luck and hope it all turns out OK for you and your mate.
  5. I think it has been said before already but bullet = Fast flying loads of horizontal pull brilliant beginners kite also excellent in higher winds for the more experienced buggy pilot, you can also get boarding with a bullet or even some air in the right winds. Blade = Slower flying (size for size) masses and masses of power and huge amounts of vertical lift very good for getting big air and boarding (land) also very good for kitesurfing so long as you do not ditch the kite. Blades are also very good at snatching the unwary out of buggies and / or off their feet and not always returning them to ground in a vertical position. Not quite as forgiving of pilot errors as the bullet. basically different kites for different jobs. PS: I have to agree with fox2 "untuned" who are you trying to kid.
  6. Works fine for me Netscape , explorer and opera.
  7. Had 5 or 6 packages from carl over a period of time, waiting for another when he gets the stock (6.6 Blade III). Never been caught out yet.
  8. For techniques try this site you want the third blue button from the left for jumping. Kitezone As for coming down .... DON'T pull the brakes you will come down naturally. I would suggest landing with your knees slightly bent and try to land on smoothish ground. Maximum wind..... depends on your experience. If inexperienced start in light winds and build up to winds you are comfortable jumping in. You do not need a harness to be able to jump (If I am wearing a harness I prefer to jump unhooked anyway) Which board? $64,000,000 question. See if you can try a few and see which you get on with. Hope this helps. Eddy
  9. can't say about any other blades but tried the kite killers that came with the 8.5 Blade III , just to see if they worked and ...... They worked fine . Very similar to the way the bullets work just a bit more material in the ball.
  10. Bullet is a stable easy to fly very good buggy engine, but if you are after a lot of speed then go for the razor or raptor, they may be a bit more tricky to fly but do the job extremely well. For general buggying / learning to buggy though I would thoroughly reccomend the bullet.
  11. IMHO you would get more use from a 7.8 than a 9m. The 9m can be very slow to turn and in anything like a wind quickly becomes overpowering. If you are looking 2nd hand have you considered the 6.4m Blade This is a useful step up from the 4.9m and will get you moving in lower winds than a 4.9 but still turns reasonably quickly.
  12. The 7.8 is an ace board Kite so long as the wind aint howling.
  13. flew a 6.6 Blade III alongside my 7.8 Blade II the other day and i would say the 6.6 at least equals the 7.8 for grunt and lift although the power comes in a bit more gently on the Blade III. The 6.6 turns and flies quite a bit quicker than the 7.8 making for some interesting airtime, pendulum jumps with the 6.6 were superb and easier and higher than the 7.8.
  14. I will go along with the bad setup idea.... I havea lot of trouble trying to luff my bullets. Not to sure about the unpredictable pull Ithink the pull comes in a lot smoother than the Blades. The unpredictable bit could be to do with nipping in and out of the power zone as these kites are fast and manouverable, and if you let them get away with it they will nip into 'the zone' when you least expect it. Overall for bugy engines I rate these kites very highly, good power, very stable and for there size pull like a train. Obviously not in the Razor league but then they were never meant to be.
  15. If you are after boarding with this kite and not buggying then go for the blade the extra lift is an advantage on the board. You can board with both but in my opinion the blade is the better boarding kite of the two, the extra lift gives you something to lean back against and is a great help for balance. Handles or bar? tricky question the main advantage of a bar is the ability to fly one handed so you can do impressive tricks such as board grabs etc. However there is a trade off as the brakes will either be non existant (2line flying) or have a much reduced effectiveness (3 line bar). If it was me I would start off with the handles and learn with those keeping maximum controlability of the kite, then see if you can try other kites on a bar before making your mind up whether to change to a bar or not when you have more experience of flying what can be a very powerful kite, depending on wind !!!! just my 2pence worth but i do fly both of the kites you are talking about.
