  1. If you want BIG floaty lift and a safe quick that won't drop you without you knowing it, buy a 1510 ARC. It sounds scary and huge, but it's almost the most controlled, uncollapsable kite in the world. Don't buy a race kite for jumping, you'll go up quick and down just as quick, not a good combination if you want to survive.
  2. But on dark fogy days, watch out for the hound of the Baskerville's, OOOOooooooo and running over the sheep.....
  3. To be really picky it's Løkken.......but then you haven't got a 'Ø' key like me, nor have you a 'Å' or a 'Æ'.........aren't I the lucky one Love to come down, but then one I haven't got the money and two I'm going upto the Hardanger fjords to experience some of the best fishing in the world Hope you have a good time, Ryan.
  4. Conratualtions to the 50 yr old geezer, I so hope that I am still energetic and able enough to do what you do and 50, my hat goes off to you sir. As for fantasticly understanding women, I have one and she is brilliant. My other hobby is fishing, and I've been out fishing almost everyday for the last two weeks together with working both days and nights, and she has not complained one bit. I think she's realised that I'm a outdorrs person
  5. The beaches in Norway are max 1-1.5km long but only about 40-60m wide, so if you have an onshore wind, your sorted........though this is very rare. It's normally down the beach or at an angle, so by the time you got the speed up, you have to do a real powerful, powered up turn and then blat it the other way. I love cruising the too, though I over took my mate the other day really quickly and he didin't know I was coming.........he nearly shat himself. I was right bettween him and on the water's edge, fun but a little hairy (just like a german prosti.......)
  6. Below 40mph is slow.......try doing 40mph on norwegian beaches, and new pants everytime will be in order Even Jase admitted that buggying on one of our vids looked a bit too scary. Buggying on a BIG beach is relatively easy, if you good and turning with Razors that is....eh Jase?? Fastest I've done is 43.1kph which is kinda a slow in comparison, but REALLY scary on small beaches.........
  7. Now for some reason, I don't doubt that for a minute
  8. I know you're not fat Jon, just thinking about a guy I fly with It's definately the weight and grooves combined, as you have more resistance against lateral pull thus reducing the chance of the kite slowing you down before it gets to the acceleration point in the air.........this is what I've experienced and the fact these variables lead to a larger kite being able to be used too. Air pressure too makes a difference, as I found out last weekend. I was using to identical libre big foots but one was going much much faster than the other. It was the different tyre pressures, so I pumped the other one up and they were identical. Another BIG variable is how skilled the flyer is. I was continually over taking and having no problems with my ARC as opposed to my mate with his race kite, though saying that the ARC is a dream to use
  9. Many bargains over the years like a Blade 4.9m and Blade II 9m for £300, sold them for £190 and £350 respectively. Just brought two ARCs 1510 and 1120 for £250 with bar and lines, all in REALLY good condition..... I love bargains
  10. It happens every time to me and my mate..... ......the fat geezer with grooves wins everytime.......though it does help with skills as well
  11. I'm both a kiter and a fisherman, and I can understand why they would be pi55ed off. At the end of the day, we all have an obligation to respect each others interests and if you come blatting through where a I'm fishing with total dis-regard, I'd say, OI, kitesurfer, NOOOOO!!! Think about if a fisherman casted with heavy weights and hooks right at you, where you were surfing, what would your reaction be????
  12. There's loads you scary haired aussie. Just do a search on the net for danish kiting websites or look at kiteshop.dk There's loads of BIG sandy beaches that are hard packed and wide, so it's not far from kiting heaven Hope this helps, Ryan.
  13. I've never heard of a disease called midi knobblies before??? Where is it most common, any information would be gratefully recieved and would sure to help me in my profession
  14. The busters are amazing in the buggy........ Now don't know why blades are so popular? Fast and very functional in the buggy, but unless your really careful or want to buggy jump not an 'ideal' buggy kite. There are many other kites that are brill, but the busters take the flag on performance, lack of lift and price!!! Though saying this, I can fly without any hands with my ARCs but they're very lifty in higher winds
  15. Also if your kite that your using in a particular wind is too large, you'll get an increase in lateral pull as aposed to the forward pull you need. This lateral pull will slow you down and pull you too much side ways thus losing the grip you need to turn the buggy upwind. Go down a size and slacken off the brakes a little (but not too much, barakes hold the kite's profile). The smaller kite will be faster, thus easier to work and give you forward pull. try it and see how you get on.......
