  1. DBBB (Dead Bird) is the The Dead Bird Buggy Bash. A week long buggy get together held on East Beach, Galveston, Texas over their Thanksgiving holiday which is in late November. For more info http://www.deadbirdbuggybash.com. We made it the focus of a trip to the USA in 2005 and were made really welcome. Would have replied sooner but just got back from 2 weeks in South Oz meeting the Adelaide & Victorians buggyers at Kingston. An excellent time at both events. I would recommend them to anyone looking to expand their buggy experience.
  2. If you want something flash, Dave from the Dead Bird turns a stainless rod to accept a screw on gear lever knob. I bought one from him at DBBB with a large orange knob. You can see it from a distance on the beach. You can always try gluing one of those orange golf balls on to a tent peg if you want something a little cheaper that still stands out on the sand. Frosty
  3. Flights and accommodation booked , just have to pack the bags :? and we'll be there to bolster the northern contingent and to have fun. Cheers Kevin
  4. Peter, I think it depends on the age of the eTrex and the version of firmware it has. The last time I checked the older ones, like mine, are not able of being upgraded. Frosty

  6. Peter, Stores like Spotlight have the plastic clips for about $3. Frosty
  7. Buggy: Standard PL Comp buggy Chassis material: Stainless Steel Fractures: 0 Fracture locations: N/A Axle bolt failures: 0 Axle bolt size: 12mm Buggy is 3 years old. Probably don't spend enough time in it. Always on smooth sand.
  8. I have just replaced the standard PL seat with an XR seat. Much more support & comfort. Saw one in NZ with a backrest fitted in the seat so you sat on the backrest. It was made from material something similar to the XR seat.
  9. You can get a pack of 4 grips from Big W for around $7.50. Another application method is to use hair spray & let it dry. A guy from a bike store in NZ told us that. Have tried it with success but haven't had the right wind to fly the kite since.
