  1. Hey Joel, whats the chance of getting one of these griffins to demo through the website? I would be happy to write a review and comparison against Vegas and rhinos etc....especially now i can kite in a nearly straight line.... I really do like the graphics and I think it would be great to support an Australian company ! Grog
  2. err what wind was that in?? It looked a bit "floppy"! Not having a go......just a comment...... Also, whats the bar pressure like? Also, you just gave me a really good reason not to go back to the uk......them big black full body suits with head covers!......its boardies and rashies over here!!

  4. yes - 1 to 1 didnt have the set up for 2 : 1 when i got it. I Have replaced the stainless screws in the safety as well but I have New Naish specific ones waiting to be picked up at RPS which will be included with the kite. Cheers R
  5. Emile, I will have a number of boards with me on Sunday at altona. I will have a 145 X 41 Nobile 555 2007, a Brunotti Onyx 136 X39.5 2009 and a 2006 Caution Redline 132 X 40. I do believe my old 2002 Bic Airflow 215cm mega board may show itself on the weekend as well. An Altona chap bought it on Tuesday! I am happy for you to try any of these as long as Joel hasnt stolen the onyx while I am not looking. I swear he was drooling as he came off the water last monday.....tried to palm me off with an underground........ Anyhow...See you there ! Grog.

  8. Hi, Due to .Joel luring me to the dark side with his wanton Vegas Kites I have to sell my favourite kite to fund my new found addiction. The wife is now checking the car and garage for "Magically appearing Kites" So I cannot do this without the home universe balancing. So - Excellent condition 10m OR rise venturi 2008 model - $750. Includes bar lines and bag as you would expect. The kite is great in all conditions, handles low wind beautifully and is unbelievable in 25knots. Guys at St Kilda loved it (and that is saying something as its not a cabrinha). This kite has been well looked after and it was out in Altona this weekend. Previous owner was a quiet, subdued individual by the name of .Joel who hangs around here a lot :-D Pics will follow later this afternoon. Give me a call on 0448 530113 if you are interested or want a test drive in Altona/St Kilda. Cheers Richard
  9. Hi all I habe a green and Yellow NAISH Cult for sale - Excellent condition with bar and Lines. I bought this kite on a whim to try it out and I prefer my North Kites. Its purely a preference thing and the fact that Joel insisted I fly his 14m Vegas and I am in love with it..... I will post pics later this Arvo. SOLD! + postage anywhere in aus for a quick sale. cheers Grog
  10. Hey, Fluffy sharks??? That was my first girlfreind in Australia! She hasnt aged well at all. From the way she kept following me and barking she obviously still feels affection for me..... Can I just say, yet again Altona has reinforced itself as a great place to kite. I am sore as........I ache, I burn and I am still going out for more today.....Cant wait to see the video footage. Joel, If I bring my laptop can you copy the video to it? Cheers Grog
  11. @emile, my suggestion would be a larger board 138 - 140 X40cm to learn on and then reduce in size. I learnt on a 145X41 nobile and I still use that for light winds. I now use a brunotti 136X39.5 onyx board which I really like. I also have a Caution Redline 132 which I am taking out for a spin today. @Jo King, Why get so pissed off with people you dont even know? What Joel Says is very true, baggsy is a an eclectic kite man, he has flown everything and is a regular contributer to the forums and the for sale section. From where I sit you are a regular contributor of utter boll****s at every opportunity. If you learnt on a small board say so and shut up rather than venting your turgid spleene at people. If you want ot have a go at people who buy a lot of kites, have a pop at me as I own over 15 of them and I buy a new one for trying out on average every two months. Does that make me a bad person? DOes it make me someone who likes kites ??? Does it mean I have money to burn (NOT). I happen to like trying new things!!!! Maybe you should try some sex, it might get rid of that pent up passion.... Well, I am off kiting today and nothing, and I mean NOTHING can ruin my day. Rant over, relaxing.................Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Grog
  12. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/k2moHdWjrSIcbINhfz just saw this and thought it was good... R
  13. defo get a 9m (any type). I hate not having the right kite for the conditions. I now have a suite of kites from 5m through to 20m (just in case). I also tend to take all kites with me when I go to the beach as I can guarantee if I take big kites the wind is howling, small kites the opposite. Never again! Ah well, its windy outside and I cant go kiting till Thursday! Cya Richard
  14. vipar, I should be around in Altona on Sunday and Monday. I didnt get to St Kilda on Sunday but it was my son with the 13m Venom on the Saturday down there.....He loves the fact you dont need to hold the bar when its above your head! Happy to let you compare the 13.5. richard
  15. Vipar, It was the prevalence of Naish on Saturday that actually caught my attention! Zero to hero in a matter of weeks. Oh yes, Green and yellow would be the colour of my newly acquired Cult..........I didnt need another kite but the price I got this for was just too little for me to refuse........ From a flight perspective, I still need to dial in on the Cult. Having been used to 07 Rhinos grunty kites are the norm, However the cult needs a little more delicacy when first flown. I managed to face plant a number of times before I got the power under control. For those who say the cults dont turn fast, I dont know what you mean.....turned fast enough for me albeit I wasnt doing kiteloops with it. Roll on Altona at the earliest opportunity. Richard
  16. mate, I thought they were breeding! There was Naish kites all over the place. There was me thinking, Ha, I will have an oddly shaped kite which every one will wonder what it is.......Time to move kitey spot again I think. Grog
  17. Wow, I went to StKilda today for my first outing in 6 weeks with a view to trying my recently procured 13.5m naish cult. Generally there arent too many sigma shaped kites out at this beach and as I arrived I noticed a single Alliance being put through its paces. As my son didnt want to go in the water and wanted to just do some jumping, I thought I would rock the boat and launch a peter lynn on StKilda beach.......SACRILEDGE I know......I then trundled off to prepare the Cult....This took a while to get myself organised....beer, wife, daughter, mother, kites, board, wetsuit etc etc etc (about an hour). When I turned around to focus on where I was going to kite there appeared to be a mass of Naish Sigma shaped kites all over the place. Obviously their $1999 for two kites is working out....For once on StKilda beach there were more Naish than cabrinha! From My perspective, my first flight of the Cult (08 model 13.5M) was erratic. Excellent power, good low end and pulling the depower really has a dramatic impact. It turns fairly quickly, but not as fast as my Rhinos. IT is pretty grunty as this is the first time I have been launched bodily from the water into a huge faceplant. Stability was a little questionable as the kite wandered in the window quite a lot. When I changed boards later on the kite seemed to come into its own a little. Good upwind, solid performance. I didnt try the hitting the jumping as yet as this would be frowned upon by my surgeon. All in all I think with a little perseverance on my part I will really like this kite. However, I dont want to appear to be part of the noob scene and have the same kites as everyone else! So A couple more goes, if I dont like it I will be selling it and returning to my beloved North 5 liners...... It was great to be back on the water today....very tired today though! Have fun everyone... Grog
  18. hey barrie, which shop did you go to? cheers richard
  19. well well well, I just bought an 08 13.5m Cult with smart loop (Second hand) and upon opening the bag and excitedly pulling the bar out.......the afore mentioned bolts fell out of the loop in a decidedly horrid way. Upon examination I have exactly the same issue where either the bolt head or nut end have sheared. So, I dont suppose you know the spec of the nuts and bolts you bought do you? I am currently looking for a nut and bolt shop which is on my route home at night :-) Thankfully the kite looks like it has never been flown, absolutely pristine! 2 more weeks and I can fly my kites again.....I have a few kilos to lose after all this ice cream I keep eating! Cheers in advance..... Richard
  20. I know its terrible to ask but have you ever done this??? The do dreadful things in your sleep? I once woke up to find my wife screaming at me to stop pulling her hair! It appears I decided to pull her out of bed by her hair in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. (I was asleep) God that cost me a lot of flowers. Oh yes I have a cat who has nightmares as well. I think it saw me skull dragging my wife! FInal point - she still loves me - she blames it on the drugs.! R
  21. yup...sorry its sold
  22. unfortunately the loo of my board hasnt improved by kiting skills... I have got to say it really is a pleasure to ride though. grog
  23. Hi all, I grabbed a 2009 brunotti onyx board (136X40) off John Armsby at Kite republic recently. I have gotta say its a very smooth ride. It planes easily and I find it edges a little better than my nobile 555 (145X41). I was disappointed with the straps which I found were loose until I realised they had been installed incorrectly. Now fixed and feel very snug. Cant wait to get back on the water........ The video below is their promo. If I get chance to come down to the water at some point with you guys....happy to lend my boards out for you to have a try. cheers Richard Brunotti Boards 2009 on Vimeo
