  1. Work for me as well. No wind yet hopefully for Robs sake it picks up this arvo. I will be dropping by the beach after work, hopefully I'll see a buggy out there. Back to Bris tonight. Hope you guys have a great weekend.
  2. I am in Yeppoon at them moment, no buggy though. Wind was excellent this arvo even if it was blowing down the beach. There was a kite surfer out there this arvo, looked like he had plenty of wind. Hope it keeps up for your weekend.
  3. So are you suggesting Murrarie?? I have never been there, that could be a good suggestion. Will miss that sand though. Is this the location??? http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-27.46793 ... iwloc=near
  4. I am thinking Sunday is looking good.
  5. Kewl indeed. Was hoping to see a kite in the air though.
  6. I did come back to find you Monkey to introduce myself but you had already gone and I found the beach overrun by blowcarts. I found it much better over on the other side of the water where I was, but it did mean getting wet. I had that look, like I had just wet my pants all day for it. Not even all over either, just in the groin and bum. Was getting some good runs almost up to skirmish once. No great speeds though with a 53 max. Beach wasnt overly crowded which was good too. Nice to 'meet' you to monkey, will try to actually 'meet' you next time.
  7. So its S at the moment but I am going to take the chance, hopefully see you there.
  8. Have fun Yeppoon treckers, I am so jealous but just could not go this year. Looking forward to some vids and pics.
  9. Nice video Jason, almost made that 3 hr turn around.
  10. Things are looking promising today, will be heading up soon I think.
  11. Somethings come up for me and I won't be there. Great day, hope the wind picks up for you guys.
  12. It was southerly so I went to Red beach which was very crowded. There were massive ruts in the beach and the tide was remarkably high considering it was low tide. Still had a bit of a run with the 3m but could not cross the ruts without packing up and walking across so I had very limited space. I think I will try again this sunday with the low @ 2.12 pm. I think the beach will be even more crowded, but maybe skirmish would be less crowded than red beach.
  13. Its not like anyone expected it to not be raining today. The tide is at a bit more of a reasonable hour tomorrow, I think I will be heading up tomorrow morning.
  14. I have been there once and tried to buggy with great wind yet no real success. I tried main beach. I found the beach narrow, even though the satellite pictures look great, most of that sand is elevated soft sand. The hard sand is very narrow and if the wind is not going straight on to the beach then you have no room to manoeuvre. The beach is filled with 4wd tracks and there are many of them to avoid. I think there is potential on the northern side as well around cylinder. The sand is hard with plenty of room, but I had issues with the wind coming over the island. I am sure not all experiences with straddie are like this, but mine was.
  15. Well I am thinking its not meant to be today. Another day for me.
  16. High probability here.
  17. Yeah it was a great buggy day, was there around 4 hrs having a ball. The black stuff, not really sure, think it was just debris. The beach seemed even more narrow than usual on the weekend.
  18. Made a video of some of the day, I had to include getting my kite in a tree x 2 and 1 minor obe, the camera wasnt running for my second obe, but it was very minor. Tried to get more footage of the other buggies in action but the camera had pivoted on the helmet and I no good footage of that.
  19. Yeah I read that post JKS, BEFORE I went and purchased. Now I have the old ones, I may give it a try but wasnt going to be relying on my handy work. Was a great day out Sat btw, today would have been the same, good to see some other buggiers out as well.
  20. NO worries, they are predicting it will ease to 25knts this arvo. Think I will still head up though, car is packed. Gotta go via briskites as my bearings are ceased.
  21. Well coastal wind warnings today 25-30knts predicted.... Gods seem willing.
  22. Well if the gods are willing I may be there. Glad to c u back in the seat btw.
  23. Just wanted to add a big thanks to Goz for the suggestion. After seeing the Ecig in person whilst in Yeppoon, I was keen to give it a try and have been on the ecigs for 3 or 4 weeks to this point. I have no plans to go back to the tabacco cigarettes and actually prefer the ecig not to mention the savings in dollars. I totally recommend to any smokers just to give it a try. I did and don't regret it for a second. I love smoking, wanted to keep smoking, but did not want all the health defecits. This is like the magical solution I was seeking. Thanks Goz.
  24. Yeah, its very appealing, but I won't be able to either.

    Yeppoon

@BKGD - will give it a try. I have tried a few of the different knots, its in the middle at this point - I am fairly lazy as well I am still keen for the communal buggy in yeppoon like you once suggested. You can fly to rocky for around $150--180 return when booking ahead. If we ever decide to go ahead, put me down for first $100. @Goz - ordered my starter kit from health cabin (1 x Joye eGo MEGA Kit + 20ml DEKANG E-juice 16mg menthol) as well as a try me doubler. Should be here in the next few weeks.
