  1. No never read anything about that. Wasn't aware really, they have served me well in the past but for different uses, I wasn't sure they were suitable which is why I asked the question, obviously you have now pointed it out. The sale fell through on the blade I was after but have decided to go foe a 4.9
  2. Sounds like a good day mick, I like a workout and a laugh with no injuries, that was my first power kite experience, puffing like a good un with grass all over me killing myself laughing!
  3. Thanks for the heads up! Never had a superman, is there a was to avoid?
  4. Sounds like a 4.9 is on the cards with lighter winds to begin until the flesh on my backside toughens up!
  5. Thanks, is that what everyone uses?
  6. I'm just I'm the process of buying a 2nd hand blade with no lines or handles, a simple question but one I'm not sure of, when I get the lines and tie them to the kite what is the best knot? I have always used bowlines in the past because they can be undone even if put under a lot of pressure. Is there anything better suited?
  7. Has this thread finally died??!!
  8. Thanks, sounds worth bearing in mind. My rage is 3.5, should I get a similar size blade to start with?
  9. I have very good wind knowledge as In previous threads I'm an ex sailing instructor so may give one a bash I think
  10. South Devon
  11. People say they are nor for beginners, I'm confident with mine, what sort of thing would be a gauge as to whether I could fly a blade
  12. Having read lots of threads and seen videos I wanted to ask. What makes the blades so powerful? Also are they as stable as my rage or less predictable?
  13. Motorbike street racing!!
  14. Pop to a chandlers (or ebay) and get some sea sickness bands, they are like little sweat bands with a pea sized plastic lump that presses between the two tendons on the underside of the wrist (not painfully!) When I taught sailing, lucky for me, I never sufferred a day of seasickness but had some and used to give them to pupils to borrow if they felt queezy/dizzy. I think they have a degree of psychological snake oil attached and a bit of pressure point work but with out fail they worked! I think they are about £5 for a pair
  15. No, tell me more, is this something we should discuss??
  16. Hours since last bump!
  17. Ahh but did Stevie ask if he was wearing a helmet?
  18. Could have been worse.... Trying to think how at the moment...
  19. Most of these are standard yacht racing rules
  20. Have you decided yet?
  21. That didn't look good, bet it seemed longer when it was actually happening than 40 seconds or so
