  1. Bump - all items are now on ebay. Koma - I can't find the wind meter, have no idea where it is (probably at the beach under 1m of sand)!
  2. Update: All items below are on ebay - prices below don't apply (cheaper on ebay). Hello all, My kitesurfing gear is up for sale to make room for (and help fund) the race bike i am prep'ing for next season. Since i don't have enough time to kite, and ride motorbikes around the track, something has to give. Kites: 19M Venom - Rare (limited edition?) blue/purple/black/white colour scheme, in great (re: excellent) nick. $400 13M Venom - Red/orange/yellow/black/white colour scheme, had a couple small repairs (professionally done), flies great. $300 Boards: Force Industries RX135 - in great condition, complete with fins, foot pads, straps. 100% ready to go. $250 Stonker Evil Bear 125 - fun board, has a few marks on it, but it's bomb proof. $100 Trigger 5'9" Shortboard w/ foot straps for kiting - great for light wind days to cruise around on, excellent condition. $250 Other: Dakine waste harness, in great condition. Red/Black/White colours, size is Medium from memory (will check tomorrow) $75 Offering a package; the 19 & 13m kites, with the RX135 board & harness for $950. This will allow someone to kite from 6-7knots, all the way up to 30knots, and is a cheap way to get into the sport. All items will be going on ebay soon, but i thought i'd give you guys first dibs. Located in SE Suburbs, Melbourne. Will post at buyers expense Australia wide. Pics available by request, email me at sheppo3930(at)hotmail.com. Thanks for reading. Dave.

  5. BUMP! 19m and 13m still available.
  6. Buggy is sold to a fellow forum member. Mods - you can close this thread.
  7. Upgrading to a newer SLE/Hybrid inflatable for water use only.
  8. Please see my new add in the for sale section, thanks.
  9. yes buggy is still for sale, courier can be arranged by buyer, from Hallam, VICTORIA, business hours. email me to discuss if you're keen.
  10. i am selling one. check out my forsale add. PM me if interested.
  11. he'll be ripping it up in no time. young kids have no fear as they simply bounce when they fall, and have no responsibilities (job, mortgage, family, etc), thus will push it to the limits! good to see he's getting on the ARC's to learn on. auto zenith and sponge-like gust absorbing of gusts makes for user friendliness.
  12. i'm in the market for a hybrid kite, and would love to try a demo of the Agro (the Griffin too if possible). if you're sending one to Joel, do it via my place i've not seen your kites down this way (south east/southern end of the bay). would be a good move to get a demo (or two) down here for test. we have some really good kiters that would be happy to go have a play on a new kite. cheers

95kg rider, in choppy conditions (most the time), would the 11m be ideal?
  14. Marty, Yeah, kiting has been on the back burner for the past 12 months, looking forward to getting back into it. Demo's would be ideal, but if they all perform to a similar level, and cost around the same, it's going to be what i like the look of, or the features (like single point inflation, how the bar/lines work, etc). From further investigation, the Cabrinha Convert IDS looks nice too! I've got a soft spot for Cabrinha's, and the Convert is marketed as a free-ride/all-rounder kite. Sounds pretty ideal to me. Will pop up to SHQ tomorrow and have a looksee at one in the flesh. The EH Beast 11m- from what i can tell is the kite i am looking for (from their range)? I've no experience with the brand, so not too sure on how they hold up, build quality, etc. The Beast looks a little flatter (more bow like) compared to other hybrids, would this be fair to say? Cheers.
  15. Hi all, At the point where i'm starting to look at a move back to inflatables (those who don't know me, i fly Peter Lynn Venom's, etc), and reducing my quiver whilst i am at it, as 3 kites is too much in my opinion. I no longer kite on the land, therefor don't require a cross-over style kite, like the ARC's. I've always liked the idea of the hybrid style kites, due to the way u can kill the power by letting go of the bar, the large wind range, ability to "park" the kite when wave surfing, etc. I don't want to start a C-Kite v's Hybrid debate, 'cause i dont really care. I've got my sights set on a hybrid style kite. I don't fancy more than 4 lines (plus the LE bridle obviously), and a simple, functional, bar set up is more what i'm after rather than gimmicky safety releases, etc, etc. So, for free riding, cruising around, small jumps, and (in the future) some wave riding, what kites would be recommended? I like the look of the Ion4 (Flexifoil), and the Cult (or was it Cult Sport?). Any other brands I should look at? Ideally i want a single kite quiver. I'm 95kg and run a Force Industries RX-135 board, usually out on Port Phillip Bay (15-25knots) in the chop with the occasional session at Rye in the flat water. Size recommendations? Thanks for reading Dave.
  16. i'm going to check it out later today or tomorrow. will see what's what.
  17. bump - heaps of emails and PM's regarding this... stop thinking about it and buy it
  18. i remember justin with a 13m Venom up at sandy point in high 30's-low 40's, gusting 45+ knots. balls or stupidity? hi justin
  19. there's always been sharks in the bay. seen a couple my self over the years. one a little too close for comfort down at Rye 2 summers ago. 6ft bronze whaler was having a look see around the pier in the middle of the day! nice to see a white pointer tho, means there must be some serious food (big fish) in the bay... good for fishin'
  20. PU = polyurethane for the uneducated or lazy
  21. i've not ridden mine yet, or a kite specific one to compare. mine is a ex team board from the guys at trigger. it's a fairly light board, and quite short (5'11"), but for cruising around in fairly flat water in light wind days it'll be fine. the day it snaps in half is the day i'll make another one but more h/duty for wave riding is the plan. the surf specific boards are glassed lighter if you go for a traditional surf board (foam core, glass skin). the new style "ding proof" boards have a plastic deck around the glass & foam core. they are almost bomb proof. i rekon they'll be the best bet to convert into a kite board. putting in strap mounts is simple and quick. i did justin's board a couple weeks ago, and the straps seemed to hold up just fine. from what we've discovered, foot strap placement is almost guess work because there's so many variables in riding style, board shape, water (flat, waves, chop), how powered up, etc. but nothing some trial and error can't solve.
  22. I've modified a couple surfboards to take foot straps now. It's not hard. Shoot me a PM if you want a quick how-to.
  23. The bike is the main reason i barely kite nowadays. Been doing a lot of time on it, on the road and on the track, and the bug has bitten BIG time. Doing 270+km/h does that to people. Sold the suby and got a ute, again due to the bike mainly. but fits my kitesurfing gear in the back easily too The buggy is in the same condition as when Nigel last saw it. Just has some dust on it from being stored in my garage. Will dust it off and give it a clean for the new owner.
