  4. Fair enough just checked the whkc website about the 100m exclusion zone, if that's the case it'll be saunton or Exmouth duck pond. I was up at saunton today but surfing, really annoyed I didn't have ny kite gear as it build to 15 mph on shore Cheers WN

  11. sounds good, and i have heard of a great organiser that goes to Morocco they are called hooked on............................... WN
  12. i'm not actually saying that ignorance is a defense, I'm just give a bit of the benefit of the doubt (on the not being there point), imagine that for every course that he had 'run' he was there and showed up as he says, then just before this one someone close to him dies, then i think that there is a good reason for him not being there, and a way to worm out from trading standards. though you would expect him to let everyone there knowing he wouldn't be showing. the other issues not so hard to get out of. WN
  13. to be fair if it was a personal issue like a bereavement then there might be a case for him not being there, hence then i don't think that a trading standard case would stand up. but if his personal issue was 'i want to go get pissed in wales' then you have a point. each hard to prove. just in case it becomes necessary, archive.org can come in very handy http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.hooked-on.co.uk/ though the current site is not up there yet, you could use this http://www.httrack.com/ WN
  14. Dan, you say that you aren't a tour operator, how about a 'tour organiser' e.g you organise 2 or more elements (e.g flight + accom) of the holiday in one price? how do you adhere to the provisions of The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992? (5N1TCH you my want to read this!) http://www.opsi.gov.uk/SI/si1992/Uksi_19923288_en_1.htm especially the payment protection and repatriation cover? WN
  15. by tosh articles i mean they have an hidden agenda, i.e its information on kitesurfing but has links to a particular product in it, not independent but biased, e.g a tosh article. Dan would you say you are a tour operator? if so do you have financial or ATOL protection? WN
  16. also a lot of tosh articles written by him selling his wears http://www.articledashboard.com/Article/Why-Kitesurfing-is-Becoming-One-of-the-Biggest-Up-and-Coming-Extreme-Sports-in-the-World/946721 http://ezinearticles.com/?Kitesurfing-During-the-Credit-Crunch&id=2525094 WN
  17. interesting that he has his mobile number on his site! also sounds like he has only been kiting a year (if its the same guy!) http://fsbfeatures.blogs.fsb.cnn.com/2008/08/22/go-surf-a-kite/ though its just a spam post as he links back to his own site WN
  18. don't think that they would at croyde as it may be busy, best bet if your staying at croyde is saunton sands or putsbrough/middle beach WN

  20. went out kitesurfing last thursday after work at the duckpond in exmouth, tide was coming fair way out and started to set up on the grass while talking to a windsurfer that was waiting for the tide to come in, after i had pumped my kite up and was just about get my wetsuit on, i noticed a guy was making a bee line for me. i figured that it was another kiter/someone interested in kiting. they came up to me and ask me about if i was interested in personal injury insurance! i found this really wierd, yes its a dangerous sport but to actively going round trying to drum up business at kiting spots i found creepy, basically i politely told him to F off as i was insured through the BSKA. he went off and approached quite a few other kiters before hopefully getting the message and driving off. anyone else had this sort of sales tatic before? WN

  25. i think that i am going to invest in a new 2010 bar and lines and maybe also a 7m vegas, to add to my 10m and 14m rhinos, so i have high winds covered. wind and tide is looking good for tonight so will have a good look at the lines while setting up and see if there could be any line length issues.
