  1. They really ought to take the old site down then as it is misleading. I wouldn't want to be the guy who pays £1600 for an X-sail only to find no-one will let me play.
  2. http://www.windandwheels.org.uk/home.php A bit of basic googling and this scaremongering thread could have been avoided.
  3. No Why start and persist with a thread based on nothing more than the word of someone who you won’t even name? Despite the respective club chairman of SWATKA and secretary of the BLSA providing you with the facts?? What possible reason would an X-sail salesman have to stir up trouble in Weston, a place that has a strong Blokart contingent (never seen an X-sail down there myself)? Unhelpful posts like yours do nothing but put the spotlight on a problem that isn’t there, maybe that was your intention.
  4. This will be available for another 24 hours then its going on eBay... don't make me do it!! For good will I'll throw in the postage so £150 all in.
  5. 3.5m Rage in ltd edition and highly sought after 'Punk' colours. Still crispy. Generally excellent used condition. 25m Flexifoil 4 line set with Flexi winder. Standard 4 line, 2*200kg/2*100kg set. No knots or obvious wear. Flexifoil handles and kite killers. These are the neoprene covered ones that came with the kite, not the latest 'Pro' ones. Triple A modification: supplied by Flexifoil, instructions included. http://www.flexifoil.com/webdownloads/instruction_manuals/bladeiv_tripleA_ammend.pdf HQ groundstake. Original Kite rucksack in Punk colours to fit everything in. Instruction book. This Kite was bought from a forum member but I've only used it 3 times, it's a little too powerful for me so I've decided to sell. As noted it does have the 'Triple A' adjuster attached but I don't know how to remove it and put it back to standard so please don't ask me to! The guy who sold it said was easily done though. There is one small nick in the mesh which was there when I bought it but really is tiny and makes no difference whatsoever (see pic). £150 + £10 Royal Mail postage, payment via bank transfer for prompt dispatch. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t315/gingerjedi/th_R3_5-laid-out-100k.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t315/gingerjedi/th_R35---100k.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t315/gingerjedi/th_R3_5-mesh-100k.jpg
  6. Same here mate. Played with a shop kite which I enjoyed... Bought one here, flew for 5 minutes, got badly injured and spent 4 nights in hospital.
  7. Oh 5hit... I wish I hadn't clicked on the video, my poor ribs are killing me now!!
  8. Thanks for all the support and advise, I definitely will make the effort to introduce myself next time. I maybe on the lookout for a smaller kite to use for the foreseeable future, something that can't spank me! I was using killers and to be honest I can't believe how I even managed to hang on to such force and I have no idea why I didn't instinctively let go. The doctors asked if I went up in the air but I honestly don't know, I think I was dragged horizontally straight and down on my side as the kite was coming down at the time. The couple that helped were flying a yellow 3m Beamer I think? They had 1 maybe 2 kids with them?? It's all a bit fuzzy!!
  9. Last Saturday (19th Sept) I read on the windguru website that the wind speed would be dead all day but would pick up to around 7-8mph from 5pm which I thought would be perfect for noob like me to get an hours air time under my belt. I set the kite up (3.5m Rage) behind the windzone at W-S-M Uphill end. I hadn't had a proper chance to fly it much before so I let the excitement get the better of me and didn't really notice the the faster wind speed and gusts which must have gone way beyond 7-8mph. I launched without problem and was happily doing figure 8's at the top of the window which I was enjoying as it seemed to be pulling quite hard but as I turned the kite to face down a gust must have caught it as I couldn't turn it round fast enough meaning I brought it straight across the power zone which caught me by surprise, I should have let go but I hung on... big mistake. The next thing I know I've been slammed to the ground in absolute agony unable to breathe wondering WTF happened? I lay there for a few minutes before a couple came over to help and advised that I get myself checked out. I probably shouldn't have driven in such a state but I had little choice as it was getting dark and I couldn't stay on the beach so I drove to A&E where I waited 4 hours to see a doctor during which time I very nearly passed out twice. The X-rays confirmed 3 broken ribs, a broken clavicle and a pneumothorax caused by my ribs tearing my left lung. I spent 4 morphine dazed nights in hospital with a drain on my lung and was only released this evening and judging by the bruising I was lucky to come home with my spleen. The wife wants me to get rid of it and to be honest at the moment I really can't entertain the thought of trying again. On the off chance you may be reading this I'd like to give a big thanks to the couple who packed my kite and helped me out that day.
  10. I've got a Civic Type-R (old model with slightly smaller boot than focus), the misses has a Focus C-Max so at least that should take it. Guess which one I'll be taking to the beach and bringing back full of sand.
  11. Will it fit in the back of a Ford Focus or Honda Civic with the seats down? I'm guessing you'd need to take the axle off.
  12. I bought one of these so I could keep my ears warm in the winter, the sides detach for the summer months.
  13. Those alloys look nice... not so nice after a seasons beach use though. There's probably good reason why most manufacturers use plastic.
