  1. I picked up a kitewing cheap a few years ago. Comes in handy at certain times but I prefer a kite on the landboard. https://youtu.be/aQ_VP1vMmHM (video)

    Flysurfer Speed4 8M

I have had a Speed 4 8m (standard cloth) for nearly a year now and it is now my 'go to' kite for both land and water. It took a session or two to get used to it but now I like the way it handles and wish my other kites were the same. I sometimes fly in quite light winds as it turns easily with control - on the water as well and I have brought a light wind kite-board to give me greater use of the kite (mind you I am not heavy!). Easy launch - hot in light wind or from the side (with no pre-fill) in stronger winds. I have made no mods - not even checked the mixer yet. Bridle is waaay less complicated than my Unity. Have not really used the front line safety as always land at the side on one brake line Have read the specs on the new 12m+ kites and they are different than the 8 and 10 (extra bridle set etc). Thinking of adding a 10m to my quiver as well.
  3. Bearing axle size?
  4. Yes they are a little heavier, but for the performance they give - it's worth it.
  5. Hey guys - are the Granny's much heavier than your other wheels?
  6. I agree - was pleased to hear they continue to test kites that are in general use. My 8m Speed 4 is one of them and have an email from Flysurfer telling me they are sending the new part (chicken loop) and to destroy the old one.
  7. Hi Murrac. Nice looking buggy. Wondering if you bought it new and are those tires standard with that buggy? If not did your order them and do they have a name? They look wider than standard and I am looking for tyres like that. Thanks
  8. Interesting read - I guess it is more like a sail. Probably won't be able to fling it around like a kite.
  9. Also probably why I don't see much PL advertising (or use) over here in the short time I have been kiting. Thanks for the info.
  10. That explains a lot. I did not know that. I guess that is where the LEI development came from as well. Wonder how long they will stay committed to the Arcs?
  11. Lucky save! Glad you are ok - those bars look dangerous. I'd be interested to know how you mounted the camera (and what sort of kite/camera). Thanks
  12. Funny I did not see the PL Lynx mentioned in that brochure . PLs depower foil. A mate has one which is his new fav kite for kite buggying. http://peterlynn.com/products/snowkiting/lynx/ Supposedly a snow kite. He had a bit of trouble initaially getting it from PL NZ - they didn't seem to know much about it.

Now you hane had the kite a bit longer Andy are you still happy with it? Any updates on how it is performing? Does it suit buggying?
