  1. Yup, Nelson has a kite festival in January. (and its still raining!)
  2. Well I woke up to a barmy -5*C this morning!
  3. There's a few landboarders down in the top of the south here. A few in Nelson, mainly kite surfers though, but I've only come across one other person in Blenheim that has anything larger than a Warehouse kite, and hes just into large display kites these days.
  4. day job brings up nothing because the words are to short, while "day job" doesn't return anything either... So go ahead and wave about as much as you like just keep it real..
  5. While we all would love to be able to spend more time hanging onto the handles/bar of a kite we have to make some money sometime to pay for all the kiting gear, so what jobs are people working in? To kick things off, I'm a theatre tech, spending my days lighting productions or doing the sound for productions/concerts.

  9. I got hit from three different people in 10 minutes last night. So far so good tonight though.

    Venom

Thanks, it looks even more like I should be looking for a 13m venom. Plummet that was some great money saving advice and good to hear from someone else in NZ

    Venom

Thanks guys, I'm about 70kg /(11st?) so It sounds like I'd be better off to look for a slightly bigger kite. However where I live its is quite often a lot windier than I dare got out with my bullet, because I get randomly lifted vertically when the kite is at the zenith and a big gust come along! When people say about the quick turning of a 10m venom (I've since found out the one I was offered is a 2007 model), does anyone know what this is like compared to a 4.5Bullet? Thanks guys, time to hit the net again to find a bigger venom
  12. I use a fairly big tent peg that I 'borrowed' from our tent

    Venom

Hi guys and gals, I currently have a 4.5m bullet and was considering adding a depower to my collection as I have read that it could be a lot better for Landboarding. I usually fly in fairly gusty inland conditions on a couple of footy pitches and have been offered a 10m Venom (not sure which version) for NZ$650. Would this be more likely to be more stable in the gusts than the bullet, or am I likely to be wipped off my feet:p Do you think the addition of a Venom is a worthwhile investment,or should I stick with my bullet for the moment? What advantages would I gain with the venom? Any advice would be appreciated as there are no other power kiters in my town! Thanks, Mitch
