Ocean - the BKSA do investigate accidents/incidents, the recent incident is under investigation to establish if anything can be learned. Accidents/incidents are reported through the "network", so where there is a local BKSA School/Instructors/Senior Instructors they are brilliant at reporting anything immediately. Others can be reported either through the website or by calling the phone number.

Don't fiddle about with adjustment - as long as the brakes are Just slack, it'll be fine. I would advise you to be cautious launching over 10mph. I'd also advice you to go and find a group of kiters, and politely ask if they will check out the kite, and maybe launch it for you to check it.
