  1. Lucky b*****d! Had a tootle on bartie's buggy and landboard for about 30mins. First time out for nearly a year!! Needs to be in the water! @Plezzy Yeah new thread is a good idea too
  2. Im off so give me a shout any time. I have some serious training to do though too!
  3. I went last year. It was good but a bit expensive and small! I believe they have made it a bit bigger now though
  4. Nice one!
  5. someone is possibly interested in my 12m atom, if that goes well then I could be interested. Depends how the funds are doing and if the missus is in a good mood
  6. What u getting rid of it for man!? Thought u would love it doddi
  7. Just bought myself a board the other week after 15 years! Thought I was the only old guy going through his midlife crisis this way Still not dared knock any kids off the parks yet though doddy
  8. Thats a bit of a trek isnt it! How long did it take? No kiting for me until next week now
  9. Android phone all the way! HTC Desire is the phone at the moment. Open source(ish) OS running linux with a market place that is free for anyone to use and publish there apps on so there is plenty of free apps about. Android 2.1 comes with full turn by turn sat nav and lots of other goodies like integrated facebook and contacts merging. However, if your after playing games then android is not for you at the moment. You can only store apps/games on the internal phone memory at the moment so there is little room for big games. It is rumoured that this will be fixed in android 2.2 but not confirmed. doddy
  10. Definately the Desire, just got mine too and love it. I had the G1 so love the android OS. ONLY downside is the battery life of about a day but you get that with most smartphones nowadays. Stay away from X10 it is dog slow although it has the same processor and is only running android1.6 and not the latest 2.1.
  11. especially now that someone has mentioned it
  12. I ride on the river dee Deeside Wakeboard & Waterski Club season hasn't really started yet but will in a couple of weeks. You have to join as a member (first few visits you don't need to join) and then find someone who is looking for extra crew (there is always someone looking) and just help towards the fuel, last year it was around £6 for a 10 minute run, I think it might go a bit higher this year because of cost of fuel etc.
  13. I have just got myself some liquid force soven. I am going to put my old boots on my kiteboard when I can find the right size bolts for them. The old ones are a little softer so in theory easy to get out of in emergencies. The new ones im pretty much welded into
  14. @bartie and @andi - feeling some of your pain today. Went wakeboarding with shiny new boots and went for an epic raley after landing a few 'normal' ones. One hand slipped off so couldnt get my feet back under so did a 20mph faceplant from about 15ft in the air, I think I actually seen my board from behind my head. Needless to say I am now sporting two black eyes, still cant feel my nose and a bruised disc. My boots are wicked though bring on the season!
  15. I managed to fix my kite and was all excited to get out so you can blame me for the lack of wind
  16. Thanks for the tips guys. Managed to locate the puncture after wrestling with the bladder in the bath. I reckon the neighbours think I have a pet octopus now after having it dangling out the window! Wish I had look at the last post about putting string around the bladder before removing it, I have the task of getting it back in tonight
  17. Would love to go cable ski but not at weekends... too busy! Prefer to take the day off Is it open now?
  18. Is sheffield cable park open yet?
  19. Nice flat water there! Jealous u have been out already this year.Hopefully out in a couple of weeks
  20. Thanks guys, Im pretty sure there was no sand in it but I will take your advice and re-inflate before I waste all that time! I have seen some patches here, anyone tried these? or just stick with traditional glue and patch like kitefix ones? Ta doddy
  21. Thanks for the tips mick. My kite is a 9m wainman so the struts are separate so I am hoping that will make the 'putting it all together again' that bit easier. I was going to giving it a go and I think you have further convinced me, I was just wondering if there was any nasties that I didnt know about. cheers, doddy
  22. @Andy Get well soon mate, and yes like sammy said .... you tit shouldny have bottled at rhossy lol
  23. 2 hours either side is kiteable maybe more. The beach disappears at high tide and your left with only stones. I would say it is flat an hour either side of low tide, just after low tide seemed to be the best. Oh, i also forgot to say that it is shallow quite far out too
  24. Hi Guys, I have got a slow puncture on the leading edge of my kite and im thinking of trying to repair it myself. Is this easy to do? to repair is it just as you would repair a bike puncture? Or is it best left for the professionals. Any pointers are appreciated Doddy
  25. Bigbud where do you go wakeboarding? Kinmel bay was excellent on saturday loads of room, flat shallow water right near the beach to practice my backroll to faceplant kiteloops and some big kicker waves further out. And if your like bartiebat you can also aim for the windturbines! Its becoming one of my favourite water spots (also helps only being about 3-4 miles from my house )
