It's a picture I took on a dive with a compact camera in underwater housing somewhere near Poole I think.

Have donated as often as I could - now running at 48 donations. Can't really say its enjoyable but it ain't that bad and anyone who can should donate in my books. You never know whether it could be you or your family that may need it some day - don't rely on others! Sadly it something like only 5% of those that can do Don't be wusses even if like me you are you can still do it. Usually feel great after - must be like a fresh oil change:)

Classic film, one of my all time favourites: 2001 Remember seeing first time round at the cinema with some school mates and we were all just blown away by it. Even now I can watch it again and again and still enjoy it - but its not everyones taste.

Was with Tiscali - utter pants, useless customer services so told them to shove it. Now with O2 - cheaper and much better. UK call centre (and fine with Mac)

Am thinking of off-loading the old vinyl collection soon as they never really get played and they take up space. What I was wondering was what is anyones experience of doing this. Someone has suggested taking them to a specialist shop and "job lot" them and get what I can. I was wondering about Fleabay and whether its worth the hassle. If it is can any one suggest appropriate "packing" and where to source it. I'm also wary of description on fleabay as I don't want to get bad feedback because of some pedantic kn*bhead that expects a 30 year item to be like new. Also are singles worth anything? I was going to mention 7 inches but thought better of it Any thoughts appreciated, cheers

All best S-Y on another year, may there be many more. Have yourself a beer:)

Terry You say that you love her - thats good She has been supportive for you - thats good But you say she can be critical - as has been pointed out women can be like that (or so it seems to us men - they usual have another angle on it) My guess is the whole picture of partner and child just seems very scary and big commitment which, maybe you are afraid on how you'll cope. House issue is a bummer but again this is a problem that can be overcome. My advice would be stick with it and do the best you can. We all get nervous on big changes but heh thats what lifes like. There are no guarantees on the future but as I told my partner over twenty years ago things like marriage don't mean anything, it whats in the heart that counts. (In case your wondering yes we are still together, and still argue now and then:rolleyes:) Good luck mate for the future

Some interesting comments - some I agree with, others....... The key thing is what sort of knife do you need for the job you are doing. For example a boning knife is completely different to a filleting knife both in the job they are designed to do and hence in their construction. A filleting knife that isn't flexible is not going to be much use on your Dover Sole. (not ****ney rhyming slang ). Like other trades there are different tools for different jobs. I would recommend to never use a dishwasher on then as this often bugg*rs the handles. Also to use a Steel to keep them sharp. My 2p worth is the set of Sabatier I have, have lasted me for the last 33 years and are still going strong. The exception being the filleting knife which being thin and fexible has over the years of being re-sharpened become too thin at the tip and is now shorter than it originally was. But it still cuts Interesting edit: ****ney as in a Londoner seems to get censored - must be a Northern Forum.

From what I saw of the thread it would appear a certain person had a humour failure and made remarks at you which perhaps thought would be up held by others. When not then perhaps it made him out to appear to be a bit of t*t. Hence removal by certain company:rolleyes: Just my thought - could be wrong, as they say "no one is inflatable";)

Would also like to add my best wishes to Wendy. I sure someone of her calibre will find her feet elsewhere despite the current economic climate. (She does look at a bit of Babe as well:))

Was on a diving trip on the west coast of Ireland. After we had finished diving one day one of the other guys asked if I fancied joining him whilst he flew his Stacker as he had not long got a second one to "stack" with it. Wind was blowing well and I had such a laugh I promised myself that I would get one for myself. Now slowly building up in sizes with my next ambition being kite surfing. Your never to old to break a bone for the first time:eek:

There is a proper physical reason behind it but I can't remember the actual details. Its a problem often encountered when diving in water thats a bit nippy - hence divers either peeing in the wetsuit (good to warm up) or tech divers with very long dive profile wearing nappies under their dry suits. Not so rufty tufty eh:rolleyes: Also it could be an age thing;)

See my Avatar;) However cuttlefish are just the best in an underwater encounter:)

A wide range obviously from Abba to ZZ Top. Of course I'm surprised that no one has yet mentioned : Surf Punk Disco Panzer (nice one Morb) Other artists you may not have come across that I have on the iPod are Tangerine Dream Pavlov's Dog Walter Trout Propellerheads Mountain Luis Miguel Funkadelic Budgie I guess most of these will be from "before your time" type, but I do like some of the modern stuff. Anyone who knows the above little selection can tell you its quiet a wide range in style

All the best and hope your having/had a good day:)

So my cat "roams" the streets at free will and you think you have the right to poison or shoot it? Tell me then what is sh*ting in the litter tray in my house? Perhap you might as well just concrete your garden and cut down all the trees as you seem to have a problem with nature. Perhaps I should go around shooting and poisoning dogs because it ain't cat poo thats on the pavements. Its exactly that small minded "b@llocks to anyone and anything else attitude as long as I'm alright" attitude that p!sses me off.

I have to say I find some of the comments which pertain to violence some what p*** me off, whether made in "humour" or not. Especially when yet again a report on the BBC website of yet another cat being shot with a crossbow. I think if such actions were expressed against dogs more people might complain. Try telling that baby that recently died when her sister accidently shot her that air rifles are harmless. Makes you wonder what the moron of a father was "target practising" to leave a load gun around in the first place. The main thing on this planet that needs culling is the biggest destroyer of life and enviroment - humans.

Just a quick point - I have a mini Mac which as far as I can see doesn't have a mic socket. When I did have a PC I did manage to do some transfers via turntable - amp and then PC through to some nice software I managed to obtain . However it was slow in that to get each track individually on an album it was a stop start each time. Also it meant that the PC had to be next to the rest of the kit. What I was thinking is that with one of these record player/MP3 complete units is I could play the albums at my leisure and not have to have my Mac in the same room as the amp/deck/speakers. Hope that make sense - but thanks for input so far.

Being from that generation I have a small collection of vinyl which gathers dust as I can't be ar$ed to set the whole system up, plus lack of space. Now I've seen in some of the magazines you get with the Sunday papers these record players that you can shove a USB flash stick in and bingo the unit transfers your LP into an MP3 format on your flash stick, which obviously you can then download into your computer. I don't want some USB turntable to plug in to my Mac and these other units seem to fit the bill. So does anyone have any experience with these, ie are they any good, possible pitfalls etc? Also trying to find them is difficult as they only seem to appear in these "catalogues":o Any feedback welcome, but remember I'm not after a USB turntable. Cheers:)

The best thing is get your own cat. Your cat will keep the others out as the garden will be his/her territory. (best make sure the cat has been "done" as that could still leave you with a problem:eek:) Also they are wonderful creatures that only fools don't understand;)

Likewise, 2nd time on the bike, 1st time in the car but with around 8 years bike riding experience:o I always maintained that cars are easier because you can't fall off them;)

Sorry to hear that, but don't feel too bad. More practise and more focus and ultimately I'm sure you'll be a better driver. Took my brother four attempts and the first job he had after that was as a van driver - no problems. Don't let it get you down - take the challenge and success will be sweet when it happens:)

Gave up once for over four years and thought I was in control and could then have the odd one with a beer. Wrong - before long back to 20 - 30 per day. However did decide to give up again and now its been 14/15 years. Am I cured? I think so as I really don't like smoking enviroments - smelly clothes, smelly breath. How I gave up was by putting the money I would have spent aside and after a few months treat myself to something knowing thats been bought by money I wouldn't have had. Also a lot of will power and without stating the obvious you really have to want to give up. I didn't want to have the drug nicotine control my life. There is never a good time to give up and there is always an excuse to to go back. In the first month I stopped both my grandma and father died within the same week. But smoking, like drinking or drugs won't solve the problems. You need to take control of your own life for yourself and your family. Rant over, just wish my brother would give up:(

Hi, My first four line was the 2.4 Sting and then went on to a 3m Ozone Samurai 2. From my experience Ozone/Flexi good as each other, and I think something of that sort of size is about right. Big enough to step up without killing yourself depending on the wind. Good luck in your choice.

@ Agro - Thanks for for the "young" reference. Do they have boards with zimmer frames attached? @ Wenglish - Coming from scuba I'm aware about the p**ing in your suit thing. Must admit with my 1st dry suit on the 7th dive with it on I nearly did have a "water retention" problem, but that was due to being "lost at sea" for a while:o Thanks go to RNAS Culdrose and the RNLI - top people.
