  1. My Comp XR has been sat in my garage unused for the past couple of years so it now needs to go. Bought about 4 years ago off this forum. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q221/kieranbennett/Kite%20Buggy/73d86810.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q221/kieranbennett/Kite%20Buggy/fcf14735.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q221/kieranbennett/Kite%20Buggy/d755190a.jpg It had new bearings in all wheels just before I stopped using it, so everything spins very freely. Foot pegs have nice grippy bits of bike tyres and bungy zip tied on, both of which could be easily removed. Peter lynn splash guard included. The straps on the back of the seat have started to come unstiched, but these could be repaired very easily. There is a small rip by the strap that goes round the front tube, but this could also be repaired without much fuss. Pics available if required. Not sure what its worth so any offers considered, otherwise it'll be onto ebay. I'm based in Cheltenham, so will happilly deliver to local area, or you can have a test ride at cleeve hill
  2. Need to replace all the wheel bearings & the headtube bolt & bearings on my Peter Lynn XR buggy. A while ago i ordered the headtube bolt and bearings for a Peter Lynn "bigfoot" buggy, came to fit them last night and they are completly the wrong size. My trawling through several online sites only gives spares options for the standard and the bigfoot. I'm at work at the moment, so can't check bearing/bolt sizes. So if somebody could advise me of the sizes and where i can source them online, or even better, somewhere off the M5 between bristol & Birmingham, that would have them in stock. Cheers

  9. How do you want to receive the answers? I can't PM you a file
  10. I would have thought that even for a design thesis, you will have to do a significant amount of research into uses, body shapes & weights, and decided what 'style' of buggy to design. After that some analysis of forces upon the chassis, bearing's etc. If yo0ur doing a degree this should be fairly obvios place to start. The design will be fairly easy. Wheel at the front, two at the back, with somehere to sit in between.
  11. You do realise you will get crucified for tax if your going to get a petrol company car
  12. Look at a Flexi Skytiger 40, works out at about 3.6 - 3.7m2 and great for buggying, i got mine from ebay for £70 and it had only been flown a handfull of times,
  13. I dont think they use a metric ton of gunpowder per explosion in holywood though:D

  16. I found the brake lines on my 6m were far too long. I have found that there is a long leader line at the kite end of the brake lines which you can use to help pull in some slack, as well as the leaders at the handle end. I must have shortened my brakes by a good foot an a half. But it now flys perfectly. It seems to fly better with a bit of brake on otherwise it will overfly at the zenith. It should also sort the turning speed issue, mine turns reasonably for a 6m
  17. I've been thinking along the same lines, would love to hear from someone that has tried a n Ozone Access in a buggy. Is it right that it doesn't generate as much lift as a frenzy?
  18. I've reached the stage of wanting to get a bit more from my buggy, i've mastered riding backwards, sliding, tacking etc. So i've recently been trying to get the buggy up onto two wheels. I've asked several people for their techniques and read a few posts on here, basically i've found it distills down to: get some speed up, keep the kite high, start to edge upwind and load up the downwind side rail and the windward wheel should come up. My problem is - it doesnt, i just start to slide, i've tried different kite positions in the wind window, but if i raise it i just have less downforce, so more sliding. And if i lower it i have more lateral pull, so more sliding. I've also tried practically sitting on the side rail, and leaning right out towards the kite. On the couple of occasions i have got the wheel to raise, i've found i can keep it balenced for several hundred meters, so i know its not my balence problem its just getting it up:rolleyes: - so to speak And comments/help gratefully received
  19. Although i haven't kept track of the latest biking equipment since i started spending money on kutes. I still have a nd regularily use a set of Cateye ABS 30 halogen lamps that i have used round Afan a couple of times. If your not looking at speding much i presume HID are out of the question, so a nice pair of halogens will do the trick. I mainly use the 10w wide angle bulb on all trails, and use the 20w in conjunction when the going getts tricky. I would look for a set with a good burn time on one low powered bulb, but also the spot for reason mentioned above
  20. I'm there on Sunday, no Van yet but looking to buy a nice air cooled type 25
  21. I was looking at getting a medium sized Yakuza (5m ish) but after reading this thread i'm a bit put off about getting one. I'm after a fast kite, thats reasonably easy to fly, what should i be looking for?
  22. If your on a budget i can't recommend Radsail Pro's enough. I have a 6mtr Pro2 and i find it perfect for buggying. Good amount of lift if you want to fly static, but not so much that your going to be yanked out of the buggy. Although not as fast as a race kite, i've seen 36mph on my gps, and it felt as though it had a lot more to give
  23. try the forum at http://www.singletrackworld.co.uk/ i post there often, but dont know anything about your problem, somwbody on there will though
  24. Due to a recent move, the missus and I havent been able to afford a holiday. My father has just finished renovating his Ford transit based motor home, and has generously offerd to let us take it away for a weekend to the coast, which will a) give us a short break, b) let us find any more problems with it. Only snag is, i have to find insurance for it. Ideally just for the weekend, or up to a month if i have to. Its currently uninsured and i only have insurance through my company for the company car. Does anyone know any insurance companies that will insure me (or my father with me as a named driver) for a short term? searches of google have so far come up short...
  25. I went down to see a mate at Starcross a couple of weeks ago, we tried the duckpond at Exmouth, and it was fantastic. Noticed a kite surf shop nerby, but didn't have time to look.
