  1. That is the right section the passphrase is your key. The generate just turns that into several encrpyted keys. Should look like random numbers, letters etc. I know what you mean Sand, But it isn't quite straight forward, don't get me wrong if you know what your doing it can take about 20 minutes to crack the encryption. But the likely hood of getting somebody doing that in a housing estate is pretty low. So i would always start with WEP, MAC filtering, disabled DHCP and montior the logs weekly to see if anything pops up. Then go further if needed just because I want the performance....overnet gets upsets otherwise. I think you would be ok psycho, but do monitor your logs, no security is ever 100% safe. If you see gangs of people crowding outside your house....then you have a issue.
  2. That isn't what they told me on the phone, when I connected just before Christmas. Fair enough take them out of the melting pot.
  3. To setup WEP it should ask you for a key. Just a word which it will encrypt, and everytime you connect a new machine to the newwork it will ask for the key. Yes that will stop random computers using your conenction. If the MAC address is not listed it won't allow it to connect.
  4. For most home users WEP and MAC address filtering is fine. Also remember that the more security you put on the more of a performance hit you will get. While WEP isn't really that hard to crack, it still takes some work, and why would somebody be doing that in your street? If they are that clued up on IT then I would think they would have their own ISP and it isn't like some kid with a PSP can just go out and break a 128bit WEP. Yes always change the default username and password, this stops hackers from easily getting in from the internet. If you are only using one computer, your laptop then yes set it up for your laptop only. Also I would be tempted to switch off DHCP and assign your laptop a static address. This again makes it a little bit harder for somebody to use your connection as finding the IP range is half the battle.
  5. Pipex's contract is only for 1 month if you don't require any equipment i.e. ADSL modem etc. http://www.pipex.com
  6. Fantastic video, superb jumps. Makes me want to go practice more. Were you using a larger Blade for them? (6.6, 8.5)
  7. Might be dropping you a line some time then as well Jeff. Finally my insurance has turned up and as soon as I get my application to the club sorted out I will be down with my board. Stuck to static flying there at the moment. (not been for a few weeks) Anderoo
  8. Hey guys, Still coming to BRS at the weekend, but this will be a first trip so need some pointers. First off any chance of directions to the beach? I know where Portmadog is having camped at Shell Island lots of times before. Anything need bringing down or Saturday night? Tent, bags, chairs etc already in the shed somewhere. Is it a case of spend all day on the beach, then go and book into camping site late afternoon? Thanks, Anderoo
  9. Wow some nice piccies there.
  10. ooh hope work understand the "off by Kiting excuse" ?? Please all promise not to laugh to much at my first experience in landboarding...and face planting. Although I suspect my face planting will be first class!
  11. This sounds like a great event and a even better chance to meet more people. Already checked my dates and I aren't on call so I am coming along. No idea where the place is but who cares.
  12. Good idea, I can get going in the sport with what I have and progress from there.
  13. Hi guys, I am just in the process of starting landboarding and I noticed on Saturday at Ainsdale that all the boarders there were using Arc's. At the moment all I have are a couple of Blades and a Buster (on handles), is it something I should look at using Arcs rather than what I have now? Enjoyed watching the guys doing jumps and stuff.
  14. So nobody from Warrington area flying here at all? Had a strange evening tonight, wind all over the show. Good to see you down on the field Jacko.
  15. I noticed after I re-visited the site....DOH! What a plonker I am. Teach me to take more care in reading, missed out on a nice wind.
  16. Only 18? Darn I looked at the wind post earlier in the day, and decided that 30mph was far to much for me so stayed at home. Although it was raining as well so kinda wimped out.
