Angoose Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 decent wind returns to the country around the 27th of december but also brings a little rain with it
mrbig Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Really Paul..............you're beginning to sound like one of them. Is the 12 miles or so to the north not enough for a nature reserve then? We never went anywhere near the post so were well away from the reserve. No skin off my nose......Just thought I would point this out.... You could so easily loose this beach or have more restrictions put on it... I'm sure there are a lot of people that would love to see you banned.... I really don't give a stuff either way...

c quad madness Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 I'm new to the lincolnshire thread but hey!!! lets just not worry. Popeye was not going into the grass, he just went to the top of the dune and turned . Out of the way of people and wild life. I can see why the point was made and agree that we should all be carefull. Peace and good wind to all.... Thank you Popeye for the ride in your buggy, you are one of the nicest people i have met during my time kiteing. I hope we can have many more good sesions like the other day and hopefully i will be better prepared so i can spend more time flying with you and less time setting up kites and shivvering being wet through..
simeon Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Well, while you guys have had a nice lay in, I have sorted the pics and vid out here Mablethorpe 15th Dec 07 Arse! I had a very bad day that day, if something could go wrong it did. Damn frustrating as the wind was fantastic. TBH I still enjoyed it, getting out and meeting others is always fun and it's always good to put faces to forum names. Plus, the only photo of me kiting *anywhere* is of my having a bad time with my Access! Can I get the original hi-res one? I'll set it as my PC backdrop . http://i102.piczo.com/view/1/e/3/v/0/x/3/2/3/5/e/h/img/i232578364_90694_7.jpg

Yeah, I was one of the landboard guys upwind of you. We briefly chatted when you tried to sell me your other drysuit although I didn't realise who you were at the time. It was my first time at mablethorpe as I usually fly inland or at cleethorpes. We came down as to your spot as there was zero wind at cleethorpes. I had a complete nightmare of a day as it all went horribly wrong with my kit. It's an 8m AccessII, I got completely over-powered with it as I got it out when the wind speed picked up and I'm not very heavy. Fear got the better of me so I packed that away. It was good to see you guys and watch some pros at work. I'll PM my email addy. thanks.

HOUSE Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Another book from HOUSE:o Great session on the beach this afternoon though very lonely after Saturday - must've seen about 10 peeps altogether in 3 and a half hours. Arrived at 1 and meter was reading 15 to 19 but seemed gusty and the sand was wipping across the beach with the bigger gusts so I tentatively set out the 10m frenzy and in a quiet moment it went up like a dream but was then right on the edge standing still with it. Decided to do a few runs and then head south for Skeg - clocked 34.1 on the usual strip and then set off. Great run at between 20 and 30 though slow for the nasty bits with concrete and water:eek: . Got just south of the massive rollercoaster at Ingoldmells and couldn't get past one of the outfalls so had to turn round. Then all went pear-shaped - the wind started to gust and the kite was pulling me out with bar right out. Time to change down. Decided to try out the 2m Brooza as haven't tested it out properly yet. Well it would do 15 to 20 but was underpowered except for the bigger gusts. Decided to pack it away and get out the 4m rookie. Spent 40 mins untangling the bridles and at 3.30 was getting a bit concerned that it would be dark in an hour - still 15 miles from Mabo. On second attempt she was flying right and hit the sweet spot all the way back. Was doing 28 to 32 for long stretches:D ................WICKED:D Got back to the strip from town to north end and the wind came up a notch more. Knew the best speed of the day was coming now but it was too dark to see the GPS. Packed in and checked it out. NO NEW PB - 39.9 again. Over 40 miles travelled. Great day though, great beach - sorry no-one else was there to share it.
