The north end of skeg is pants. There is a lot more room on the south side near the boat club, and is where most people go to kite. Mr Big is right though, depending on the conditions that day the sand can be rippled and bumpy or a little soft. I've always had a run, but found the wind direction a pain, its never dead on/off shore for easy runs (whenever i've been)

and don't even bother to get the board out if the tide is in, the sand is always soft.

Well I wonder if he went ???

Xc says it has been SW all afternoon.....

Looks a bit grim outside.....

Well yes we did go, House and myself and Danny .....the hardcore, only one problem, we should have gone sooner as by the time we got there at 4.30 the tide was so high, no kidding there was about 25m of beach, only just enout to lay a kite out and high tide wasnt till nearly 7pm......anyway we decided to give it a go in the soft stuff....Congratulations to House for doing his PB at 37 ish mph House will confirm this.

I managed 42.4 mph up against the dunes and while I had Danny sitting on the rear axle of the SuperBug we clocked 39 mph...we litterally buggied until there was no space left to pass. House literally ad to land his kite the other side of the picket fence....one and a half hours of adrenalin....bring it on.

Here you can see how much space we had

its going to be a lot more than just K-surf, although they are a date on the tour:cool: I belive last year they had a bus taking boarders and buggiers to mable, then had a mass run back down to skeg. I wish i'd been able to make it.

Welcome! I'm nearer Lincoln but go to Cleethorpes nearly every weekend. Would like to try Mable some time though - is Mable as good for boarding as Clee or is it softer sand?

The beach at Mablethorpe is the same as Cleg hard some days and soft the next there are longer runs to be done at Mable though

Yeah, still on a real high from that awesome session - l have yet to get out and hose the old 'cuda down.

Cheers to Carl and Danny for coming across - I think I'd have called it off otherwise, what with wind gusting around and rain pelting down, but boy was it worth it.

PB has gone up to 36.3mph and if we'd had some hard packed sand I reckon both bugs would have been knocking on 50 ish. It was supposed to rain so left the specs in the car - bad news given the lumps of driftwood around, and they kinda come up fast in those conditions.:o

Carl held on to the 6m access extremely well given that I was feeling well out of my comfort zone with the 4m rookie. I thought he was laying it on a bit thick belting past with one hand on the bar until he told me later that he was using the other hand to grip the side rail in order to stay aboard. The wind was great - pretty gusty for an easterly, but the kite never folded completely. The lack of beach made it interesting, especially crossing at speed, but hell, in those conditions it's in for a penny............

A bit of foam and sand don't do any harm! lol

Great day....................... - as usual though, can't wait for the next:D

Thanks for posting the pics - a time to remember

Hi CJ where in kirton are you living I used to live there but am also up the road in scunny if you want to go for a quick fix in the week just to fly your kite you might want to pop upto the cricket field it's at the back of the trees from holt's or go on the big field across from the barracks last time I went to kirton to have a fly as my mum lives out there I went on the field across from the barracks I asked one of the gaurds he said don't use my board any where near the cricket or rugby pitch or I would be in the deep brown and smelly.

Dude,

I work at the barracks (RAF), no brown and smelly stuff for me! :D

I have been out on the sports feilds almost everyday since I got here (I live 20 yards from the sportsfields in one of the houses at the bottom), but it can be quite gusty and it would be nice to meet up with some other lunies - after seeing some of the pics that have just turned up!

I have just secured use of the beautifully kept airfield at Kirton. The glider club use it most weekends, you guys must come over and try it out - I'll see what I can proganise - may have to be a weekday evening tho  I'll keep ypu posted.:)

Cheers for now, peas,
