scrabharlz Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 G'day all If there are any fellow kite buggiers here in brissy interested in a run up on bribie this arvo ?- I thinking about going up - the winds are "supposed to be NE thi arvo -if the forecast from webist is correct (???) Anyway its been too long since I have been on a buggy run & my bearings have probably seized completely by now. If I recall correctly there is the kite festival up at Coolum this weekend - so hoping it might be quiet on bribie.... if any one has better info than me on the current /expected wind conds pls let me know :-) rgds KitebuggyKev Quote
Jason Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Hey Kev, No Coolum is 2 weeks away. Should be a light NE breeze this arvo but Sunday is your best bet for wind. I am stuck with lessons this weekend but I'm sure there will be other takers. Jas Quote

westfire Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 :rofl:Went for a run in the Cougar on Firiday with Mchamilton & Poodel360, the wind was blowin SE at 15 knots so we went down to Skirmish. For about two Hours all we did was go back & forth the full length of the beach what an awsome run. I was using my 7m Cabrinha Inflato, Mchamilton was using 4m Mata depowerable foil & Poodel was using a 2m or 3m PKD Buster. Later in the day I pulled out the 5m PKD Combat & what a beast this kite is I only got to fly it for a short run but loaded up the buggy & flew it all the way back to the car park, if I had more time & beach wow it could have been very interesting. As for going up on sunday hmmmm I probably get shot but we were talking about going up next weekend as for another thread on Bribie there is allready three in the state/meets area on this site but hey why not have another one lol. talk to you soon Wolfie & buy the way I'm so so so sorry about the kite I swear it was not tangled up when I put it away. scrabharlz Posted September 30, 2008 Author Report Posted September 30, 2008 guys & girls. well it was good to test the bearing on the old PL buggy. I had a good run on sunday arrived about 1-50pm on the beach walked up northwards a fair way .....took the 4.5mtr Ozone Razor out the upwind run was a bit of a slog & I was continually sideways.....though it definately had a little too much northerly in it on sunday arvo.......so yep the run up towards the 4wd entrance was definately slower..... However the downwind run was fantastic definately made up for it in spades . I know the razor is a race kite & to get the best out of it you do have to work it a fair but but gee it was a good downwind run. guys hope to catch with you next time. regards Kev aka kitebuggykev PS Jas thanks for the tip about going on sunday - you're a legend.
