Spudley Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 How about a Mako? Really like the look of them, dont think the budget will allow. perhaps noo noo could pm me a price.
DjMoz Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Spud - Have a look at the Skywalker Website and look at the latest bargain list. Unfortunately it is not downloading for me today, I only get one and a half pages. You may be able to get a new board for around £200. I am sure NN would have mentioned this though.
Noo Noo Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Aye spuds Contact them via their website and see what they have. http://www.skywalker.pl I may also be selling my board in the future. (CHEEK!!) Not sure when though. I'll see what price I can get on the Mako's.
Spudley Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 Have a buyer for my board, should be sold today. Going to have a look at a 08 Naish Sol thats on offer at solentsailboards.
DjMoz Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Hey guys, wind this week from Tuesday to Friday. should get out one evening. If you dont have a buyer Spud Michelle may be interested in a board, if not maybe interested in NNs.
Noo Noo Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 had Marko's text. Tempted but I may have little'un duties. I'll see if i can negotiate. Oh yes i'm here over the weekend too.
Noo Noo Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 If it's kiting Wednesday It has to be Hayling. Low tide at 1730hrs
snap1 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Some interesting purchases lately then guys, the cash is rolling in here . Spud what price are you looking at for your board and remind me of the size? I really need to get out, been so busy working and weekends have been packed, this is not so bad as there has not been any wind. So build up the brownie points whilst I can hey! I am definitely up for camping would be a good laugh I think. I am away to looe Bay end of the month any one heard of any good spots down there? WILL be room in the car for my kit
Spudley Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 board sold. waiting for a call about the sol, out of stock in the size i was after:rolleyes: wont be able to get out this week as have no board! and am a bit busy too. Think we are headed to the I.O.W at the w/end, might have to bring the kites with me.
mark o Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 NN, wind forecast has slightly stronger wind for Hilhead on wednesday than Hayling. snap1, to my knowledge Looe is surrounded by smaller coves and smallish beaches so have few launch opportunities. Also those same beaches/coves will be heaving for the next two months on nice days so its possibly not the best conditions. You could head further north along the coast past Plymouth to the South Hams area but these again may be subject to conditions and local council conditions.
Noo Noo Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 cool. Hill Head it is then. I'm leaving work at 4pm. Anyone need a lift I've got a full tank of diesel. All I need now is a stroke of luck and a certain new kite to arrive. Snap - do you take a hoover camping? - for the carpet. Getting out a fair bit. Cool stuff. Peoples. Any thoughts on this. Not decided between older and cheaper allowing me more money to Pimp or trying to get something a little newer. http://motors.uk.freeads.net/cars/volkswagen/K+Reg+Caravelle+in+good+condition+for+age.+7+seats-642206.htm?utm_source=Motors&utm_medium=Oodle&utm_term=Cars
DjMoz Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 NN - no kite today then by the lack of excitement. Forecast for hill head looks a touch better tonight than Hayling but I am happy to do either.
Noo Noo Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Go on sit on the fence then. More wind the better I think - dont want it to die on me. Na still not here. Shame. But at least I'm hearing the right noises now. Chances are it will be here by the weekend as it looks like I've put the dreaded curse on the wind. hill head it is then. Decision made. Need a lift anyone??
snap1 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I was hoping to get down to the coast this pm and take some TOIL but was at Ascot yesterday and have too much work to get throught to blag the time off or even finish at 5:30. I am gutted that I cannot get out to the coast, and not even sure if crabtree will be worth a shot later? DM - Out of intrest what time will you be leaving for Hills head tonight? Noo Noo - No, no hover however it does need it lol. Marko - Thanks for the details on Looe, may have to think carefully about it.
mark o Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 DM/NN, how was it? The suspense is killing me.
Noo Noo Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Well a complete failure by the "Basingstoke Bandwagon" 2 nutters turned up, 2 nutters went out. IT WAS EFFIN AWESOME Hayling almost at it's best. For those that missed out - SHAME ON YOU.
Noo Noo Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 The Bandwagon Bizarre 9M Ocean Rodeo ONE Spanks 12m Peter Lynn Synergy An official report is now being drafted but the results of a scientific study have already been released. A 9m Ocean Rodeo ONE has more power than the 12m peter Lynn Synergy. The recent test conducted at Hayling Island ended abruptly as the 12m Synergy failed to perfrom in conditions that dropped slightly. The test pilot (hamster Morris) immeditely switched to the 9m ONE and disappeared upwind. A couple of front loops later Hamster Morris returned to the beach "My goodness, there's definately enough power in that!" Hamster Jones returned to the fray (with a smaller board) and was lucky not to cause permanent damage following a powered but failed Raley. In a final conclusion it was concluded that Hamster Morris needs bigger feet so other test pilots can use his board. Scientists are working on a solution. Bolt on extras have been suggested.
mark o Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Excellent report!!! Looks like the Basingstoke hamsters really had some fun, I definitely agree with the feet related observations.
Noo Noo Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Final note from me today Not 100% of plans yet but there's wee chance of a powder puff breeze on Sunday. Tides at Hayling suit an very early jaunt or a late one. The late option may be better for the wind. Is the bandwagon up for it?
snap1 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Interesting report NooNoo, I await DM's comments LOL I am gutted I could not make it last night, however I can do Sunday PM. I am working in the AM and the family are in North Hampton for day . What time are you lookingat PM NN? O can't remember if I replied about the VW Caravanette, but I think it may be a nice option to go for. Plenty of tint and or curtains though, may be a discussion for the pub .
DjMoz Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 NN Report: Interesting take on the situation, granted I was not powered but upwind 3/4 of the time and an issue with the trimming which did not seem perfect. I agree that the 9m did seem to have the same / touch more power in the gust that I tried it in! A back to back test with some trimming adjustments could reveal similar power. As for awsome session, it was a pleasant cruise but could have done with more wind and a bit of evening sunshine! DM
Noo Noo Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 A back to back test with some trimming adjustments could reveal similar power. DM You must be joking the test was conclusive and valid. Please also note that you had 4inches of rope pulled through the cleat and a further knot on the bridle to power the kite even further!! B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h, B***h
DjMoz Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Arcs Rule - end of argument, hurry up and get a C-kite, then you can unhook.
Noo Noo Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 hurry up and get a C-kite, then you can unhook. Oh now you've done it. Yesterdays version of "red eyes" is nothing. Give the Synergy to Snap so he can sleep in it...............
