DjMoz Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 14m havoc 07. Nice - I doubt you will get to use it this weekend though. Kite van? NNs latest possibility, wow what a van! has probably 16 seats at the moment so plenty of space, maybe a bit slow though. DM
Noo Noo Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 yep I'm here and Friday is booked off. I think Friday might be my only kiting option at the moment. Little'un is with me. 14m havoc - Ooooh. Dont yu just lovce it when someone spends money! If the Wawoo keeps working you've got a sound quiver there Spud.
Noo Noo Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 One of my special spots. Works in a Northerly this one. It's all lagoon!!
Noo Noo Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Kite van? NNs latest possibility, wow what a van! has probably 16 seats at the moment so plenty of space, maybe a bit slow though. DM Yeah. here it is. It's there if I want it. Defo not a speed machine. Wont win any "Pimp my Ride" entries either. Needs a lot of work though. Bodywork is the main concern. Bit rusty unfortunately. But 17 seater to convert. Ideally needs to be reregistered before it can be used. I'll just get pulled by HM Inpsectors all the time otherwise. (registered as a PSV vehicle and been SORN off the road as such).
mark o Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Spud, tomorrow afternoon is looking to have potential at Poole. If the wind has started to pick up by midday then I will probably be popping down there.
snap1 Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Sorry guys out of the loop today, fecking busy this week. Noo Noo, the new bar can be used 1:1 and 2:1 so thats cool. The saftey is alot better the kite will totally flag out now though I have lost the spinning system . Van looks cool you can do loads with those, I can always lend a hand if required have not helped in a vechicle project for ages. DM, I will make sure I am happy with the new setup then I might let it go. Spud, you certainly deserve a new kite have got great use out of the warro and still going strong! Marko, getting alot more water time recently, have to watch out for you will be pro soon! Friday, have it booked off too though the wind looks a bit scarey for me and my 8 stone LOL. Might have to tell a little white lie to the mrs working half a day

I have been concerned at the amount of work needed on the old beastie. Mechanically its all about there - no real issues. A service wouldn't do any harm but otherwise. Drove to Manchester and couple of weeks ago without missing a beat. What have seen / heard done to them? good news on the bar. Once you get your head around flying with crossed lines having a non spinning system does have a small advantage - it forces you to spin (you or kite) the other way.
Spudley Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 Spud, tomorrow afternoon is looking to have potential at Poole. If the wind has started to pick up by midday then I will probably be popping down there. Might not be able to make it this afternoon, I am waiting in for a delivery.

Noo Noo Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Well open it then. Hurry up before DM gets on here.
Spudley Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 Its massive!! can only see half of it as the room isn't big enough. Kite is black with blue graphics. bar looks nice, depower below the bar through a cleat.
DjMoz Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Well open it then. Hurry up before DM gets on here. I am here, what did I miss? New kite, nice, I bag first test...after yourself of course Spud . Kite van - first job - black out windows, second job - Kite stickers all over it, third job - cooker, fourth job - low profile alloys (you now it will look pimp then). DM

DM Nothing except i half expected you to be banging on Spuds door blagging a go on it before he's even opened the parcel. Got to sort the bodywork first I think. If I leave it the thing will just rot. What I need to figure out is how soon I can reregister it and get MOT sorted while doing the "pimping"
snap1 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Noo Noo these vans are great as they have excelent body structure and the chassie is tough. Only looks like cosmetic rush from the pics so wont rot out that quick. Loads of parts and idea on the web as they use them for anything, recovery trucks, 4*4, motor homes ... Spudley you will be well powered up now
Noo Noo Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 yeah lots of rust spots but a few areas of greater concern TBH Snap. Front wing is just about rusted through - nothing that cant be sorted though. need to get under it and have a look there. As always the doors seem to corrode first too, especially the rear ones. I had a little play with layouts (using funny kitchen design program) a wee while ago too. 1st idea - scale isn't particularly good but gives and idea. Front seats swivel to make 2 or one big bed (combine with table and seats etc.) the flat / work top area at the back also converts to another bunk if needed. Storage under this area for kit, gas, water tank too. Might detail this to fold up too to increase storage on the road even further. I also want to check if it's possible to remove the rear windows and get panels to fit instead. Gives me options for taller cupboards, toilet etc. Lifes essentials with little'un. Remember discussions RE tomorrow's event (or not) Looks like we have 20 knots or so in the afternoon. Rock and Roll. Snap I think you'd have a chance in that. I'll be on my 12m if the forecast is correct.Van idea.doc
snap1 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Tomorrow, What's the plan, time, location and people? Might bring my camera if its too windy for me and my 9. If we are not going early morn I might setup my bar at crabtree, any one welcome to help me . Not sure if it would be a good idea to meet at the pub tonight to discuss as most are not working tomorrow?
snap1 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Must get me some kitchen design software lol cracking drawing! Looks a nice layout on paper.
Noo Noo Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Free download from a certain Swedish furniture company. Other free downloads also UK kitchen firms. Basically they're all at it!! I'm easy. More time on water the better. Like to be back around 6ish though
Spudley Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 I'm at work tonight but have friday night booked off now. Where we headed? high tide at chichester is 15:20 so hayling/littlehampton/shoreham would work if we can get there fairly early. Or head for poole, high tide around 11.
Noo Noo Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 5 of us I think. tell me if I'm wrong. Noo Noo Snap Spuds DM Marko have I missed anyone? DM's playing in the Big Smoke this morning so probably off line. Spuds right Low water at 0800 Hayling.
DjMoz Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 AM does not look too hot too me very windy but advantage of low tide. I think the weather looks better PM but high tide. Various forecasts have differing winds. PM overall looks more kiteable. Two cars needed - I am happy to be one. Someone make the decision and I will turn up when I get up! Logistics of this group will be interesting. Expect a few calls this evening, anyone volunteering to do the organising of the rabble?? I am still at work for a while.
mark o Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Is this going to be a whole day event... leave only when the wind dies, daylight goes or all energy is expelled?
Noo Noo Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 All day is good for me. back by 6ish or so.
