NN, just sent you a pm regarding the video issue.

Question for you all. Saturday was great but Sunday I was aching all over but very unusually the soles of my feet are painful to walk on without having padded trainers on. This is probably due to the run I had to do across the beach but might my board be contributing to it?

Nope I think its the running / no shoes thing.

Suffer from the same thing. You know me I get all excited when there's kites about. Running round like a nutter launching, landing all over the place. Gets me more in N Wales where there's a lot of sand when the tides out. Lots of walking. I also think its something to do with the shoes you wear during the day etc.

I now choose to ignore it based on the fact that I must be soft wearing shoes. Totally unacceptable.

Sleep in. That would be nice. NOT. Waste of time laying there all day.

Had to do an emergency trip to Halfords this morning. Not a problem just a stupid and avoidable delay.

Cheers for the link Marko. See if it works

Day 2 is correct Snap1 with some minor tips on kite set up you'll be fine. That's what I did.

Only thing to watch is class size. 1 kite between 2 is OK. Any more and you learn little, get cold and bored.

That school is okkkkk, but from experiance they miss out on a few crucial elements such as tide effect on wind power etc. Possibly the best school is Mobius down in Cornwall, top people (esp. Lawrence) who will teach you everything you need to know. Definitely worth a weekend trip to Cornwall.

And he reckons he can get out more now that the little one is born!

Good luck with that. I reckon you should sell your kites now and give up any idea of kiting. If not you may end up like NN. :D

What wind directions are suitable for Poole and Hayling?

Planning trips/ lession baesd on wind speed/direction and tides is going to be fun to learn:rolleyes:

Any one got a dummies guide to this....

phew rest period.

Hayling works on a SE (might stretch to an Easterly) throught to Westerly I think. Look for low tide. About 2hrs either side is best. Plenty of beach and the sandbank / lagoon might appear. DM knows better

Poole.

Harbour - Southerly round to a North West. I think North West wind is best. Problem is it gets stupid busy as not many other spots will take a NW on the south coast. Tides not really an issue except for low tide means less room but more set up space. Wind can be horrible lumpy, the chop can be fierce and the crowds even worse.

Sandbanks (the sea front) - North Easterly round to a South Westerly. Tides not a problem. Gets deep very quickly and the shore dump can be fun.

All of the above are based on cross shore and on shore winds.
