Skimboard is coming along DM. Cut and shaped the top sheet last night. try and glue the bottom 2 sheets this evening. Decided it would be biting off too much to try and glue all three at the same time. It looks very square at the moment. a point to discuss maybe.

No kiting this weekend either cause I'll have my little'un which is cool. i can get up to some real mischief now!! Skim board production took a step forward. Revised shape looks a bit better. Wish I had a camera. Potential new kite on the way too. My old 17m might be coming home.

Noo Noo Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 Been naughty. No progress on the skim board DM. oops another evening session in the bag. Mad dash to Poole as tides weren't the best and try to give Mark a fair shout. Worst wind ever with horror chop. Cant remember seeing anything like it. Wind went from sub 15 knots (couldn't get going on th 9m) to screaming my head off in spells of 30 something. Went from fullpower on the cleat to having about 10" of line pulled through at one point. Horrible. It did settle a little later but conditions fell away. Never mind though "any session is a good session." Things coming along for Mark now. keep at it fella

Just doing a short 4 week trip starting Monday and i have a service engineering job based in this area from september onwards. Might get out more often in the evenings who knows! See you all soon

A straight South wind (Forecast this weekend) is okay but not ideal, the more it swings to SW the better. DM

Certainly would. 2 hrs or so on the water followed by a swift half and a pub dinner with mates. Pretty close to a damn good evening if you ask me. Moment of truth this evening DM. Take the weight off the skim board and hope the rocker stays in place. All well and good I'll glue the next layer down this evening. Might need more glue. Try not to gas myself this time. Smelly stuff, makes you feel funny.

DM Got rid of the smell (I should say fumes) by leaving the door open a while but got eaten alive after that when all the bugs came in . This board building lark is blinkin fraught with dangers.
