Noo Noo Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Howdy DM. Not that smart but more practical / comfortable. I took that diesel Astra in the end. Looks / feels solid enough. Might actually get 3 of us down to the coast now and get to N Wales in les than 5 hours! Bank breaker but that's the way at the mo. Starting from scratch so to speak Got Leon's kite in the boot if you want to borrow it for the WE. 10m - excellent. I've seen an 8 but no 10. New stuff for me!. A while away but I want to look at harnesses and them OR mako's

Spudley Posted June 8, 2007 Author Report Posted June 8, 2007 I'm struggling. With the little un in the evenings. Might bring him down Crabtree again though. If it's a sunny evening might bring all my lot along.
mark o Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 Just a quick note to let you all know I will not be around for the next three weeks due to my being in Mauritious on honeymoon. Hope the wind improves for you all.
Spudley Posted June 11, 2007 Author Report Posted June 11, 2007 Also Tuesday next week - Wakeboarding http://www.kiteboarder.co.uk/kitesurfing/viewtopic.php?t=18784 Anybody up for the trip? Noo Noo Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Also Tuesday next week - Wakeboarding http://www.kiteboarder.co.uk/kitesurfing/viewtopic.php?t=18784 Anybody up for the trip? DM Dave, you still thinking of going tuesday? Will be able to give you a lift if you are likely to be ready around five o'clock. Keeping an eye on the forcast for poole on tuesday too, showing 13mph SW from 1 o'clock. Not fair Haven't been out in ages. I've forgotten everything! Now an evening session could prove very tempting if I could organise things.....Hmmm Summer holidays coming that's my best opportunity. Evening sessions anyone? I can escape work at 1600. Be in Basingstoke by say 1630 and away.............. Anyhow next stage in Noo Noo's adventures. Going to N Wales this WE - ON THE TRAIN Managed to get two kites in one bag, wetsuit will fit too. few bits of clothes somewhere. kite board in one hand ticket in the other and I'm away. Picking up the new(er) car. Its got 5 gears - so there
Spudley Posted June 11, 2007 Author Report Posted June 11, 2007 Colin check that trains are not disrupted at the w/end. last time i went to wales by train at the w/end it involved a coach to salisbury:eek: Have also learned the hard way about not checking if anything is on at the millenium stadium:rolleyes: had to endure a stand up journey with a train full of Arsenal fans. (I had a dog and two daughters with me,not fun:rolleyes: )
Noo Noo Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Noooo hadn't though of that! heading North Spudley, so its Birmingham for me. Checking the Websites now for troubles. Its bound to be too good to be true. Noo Noo's rules state; Despite excellent planning it will still go wrong - best to wing it and get it wrong that way.
DjMoz Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Paul - Still planning on going but not going to be around until 6.30pm, deciding whether to go up the M4 from work or back to Basingstoke first. Unlikely to make it before 6.30-7. DM
Noo Noo Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Just a quick note to let you all know I will not be around for the next three weeks due to my being in Mauritious on honeymoon. Hope the wind improves for you all. here's us rabbiting on and we forgot about Marko. he's signed up have a good one fella. Hope there's some kiting for you too. We're struggling here PS Watch out for the coconuts.
Spudley Posted June 11, 2007 Author Report Posted June 11, 2007 Noooo hadn't though of that! Noo Noo's rules state; Despite excellent planning it will still go wrong - /quote] Your rule sounds familiar, what with me being a Murphy, it's more of a law:rolleyes: Congratulations Mark o, at least you were kiting before you got hitched.
Noo Noo Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 Noooo hadn't though of that! Noo Noo's rules state; Despite excellent planning it will still go wrong - /quote] Your rule sounds familiar, what with me being a Murphy, it's more of a law True. Murphy's Law is one of the fundamental laws of the universe. Noo Noo's "Law" is more of a development, stating that in many cases the end result is inversy proportional to the effort put in - when dealing with train times anyway. Works for kiting too. More effort, more pain. Noo Noo has several other Rules / Laws too, several of which are completely and utterly spot on. i have yet to be proven wrong yet. However they are far too dangerous to quote here. The uproar would be crazy.
Noo Noo Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Looks like the weekend forecast is turning agianst me in N Wales this Weekend guys. You may get better down here by the look of things. Still have plenty to do but I need a kitefix. Its been ages and its not funny any more. fingers still crossed.
DjMoz Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Saturday is looking Vgood down in the south. Who is around? W - SW 15-20mph. Maybe an early or a late trip.
Spudley Posted June 15, 2007 Author Report Posted June 15, 2007 Saturday is looking Vgood down in the south. Who is around? W - SW 15-20mph. Maybe an early or a late trip. looks pretty tempting working all w/end but might do sat afternoon as long as i'm not too tired.
Noo Noo Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Go for it guys. Spudley, get DM out of bed!!!! I've been hunting around like an idiot hoping that somewhere in NW Wales will get some wind this weekend. No joy and totally depressed. drop us text when your done. Always good to hear the stories.
DjMoz Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 I think that you should be able to find 15+mph weterlies in north wales, certainly on the North coast on Saturday afternoon Colyn.
Noo Noo Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Forecast is really rubbish DM............... Depressed Max 8 knots NW swing to a massive peak of 6 knots West. May still wander down to Aberdyfi though. That estuary might suck it in a bit. Sounding desperate aren't I; and I am! looks good for you guys tomorrow though. too good an opportunity to miss.
Noo Noo Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 Well after a disastrous start to the weekend where I didn't even manage to get out of England we managed a "Sanity Saver" session. I also got out for an hour on Friday evening at Crabtree. So not all was lost. Shame you had to leave early Spud we got a good half hour of decent(ish) wind after you left - made the afternoon worthwhile, otherwise generally underpowered and struggling. I should have stolen DM's 16 for a moment or two. Well done to Jez, he's up and going now. Cross fingers Peter wont be far behind. hoping to get to N Wales this Weekend for a long weekend. Need to pick up the car. Forecast looks better for me this time but I'll need to go exploring as Northerlies are forecast.
DjMoz Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 Not too bad, Although I do know that it will be easy for me to get overpowered on the 16, it doesnt quite depower as well as the Venoms. Paul - how was it for you, I didnt really see you at all. DM
Noo Noo Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 Found this website and a wind report for Saturday average 11 knots!! http://www.windfinder.com/wind-cgi/stationsbildseite.pl?STATIONSNR=gb7&DATUM=2007-06-16
DjMoz Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 That explains a lot, If I had a bigger board - Pauls, I would have been fine. DM
