Sunday is looking mean. I am tempted but the earlier the better as the wind is forecast to build through the day and it looks like its 25kn to start with. So if anyone fancies leaving around 9am to be at Hayling for 10 3hours before low, then kite on the receding tide and building winds.

Or is 40kn okay now for the two Impact owners! May be a good tester day for 8 & 7m high wind kites.

Was pretty windy, chimet showed gusts of 40 knots. Glad i had the 8m.

Was pretty busy though and lots of windsurfers out in the waves.

Dave's session was cut short when he had to release during a launch as sorting out lines in those winds was hard word.:(

Certainly was a bit lively. So I decided that climbing a ladder was a good way to get a fix. Not quite a tree climbing buzz but not bad. Good height was achieved though.

Had to hang on a few times.

Anyhow (oh the shame of it). I need to borrow a multimeter / volt meter. I still refuse to buy one. The fear of some spotty shop assistant looking at me like I might be a geek is too much.

Basicaly the wee van has an intermitent overun. (tries to keep going when you switch the ignition off). I need to check if there's a spark after the ignition is killed.

Grab one of these for a couple or quid, or I shall see if I stall have one.

Why are you checking the coil, is it because you think your still giving a spark? If so then the spark tester will prove this.

As for that post 8 hmmmm, I would not do that if i waz u . Plus I can't understand it. To remove carbon deposit you usually have to grid/ polish it away. I would take a guess that any other method could damage your engine. If the timing was that far out it would run like a bag o bolts. When you send it for the LPG they will have to do the timing again any way.

Aye I know. Scares the eebie jeebies out of me that one.

I've actually seen that method mentioned in a couple of places now. Chatted with a mechanic about too. Didn't acually knock it. He even said that when he looks at engines with a busted head gasket the head is always spotless so there might be something in it.

Ideally I need to confirm if the electrics are dead. That would then confirm my fear that the engine has some carbon deposits in there. They get very hot and will actually ignite residual fuel in the cylinder - hence the run on. No spark at the plug at all. Gut feeling this is a waste of time though.

As a contingency I've ordered a shut off solenoid from Weber. Let the gas clean it. Gas engines run very clean apparantly.

last time I checked it was for arranging meetings and discussing things with colleagues. I haven't seen any rules. Pick the knowledgable ones brains I say.

There is a thing about maintenence you know.

Unfortunately for me I don't finish my night shift till 9am so can't do an early start and have to be back at work by 5-30pm. I just looked at forecast and shows 17-20 knots ish but NW. I am guessing NW is gusty as hell??? To gusty for a beginner??

If you are planning on going could prob be in basingstoke for 10am if its worth it for beginner

If you don't read this till tonight text me on 07979737163 with what you are doing. Can't answer mobile as will be at work and mobiles are banned in our pockets, as well as the internet, but will text back. Failing that you can call me at the fire station on 01635 41406.

Alex/Dave,

I will be going early as i am working friday night:(

My plan is to drop the kids off at 8:20am then head straight down to Poole.

N/Westerly shouldn't be too lumpy at Poole Alex.

Hopefully see you down there.:)

Dm, will have some space if you can be up that early. I will be heading back early afternoon though.

Alex mate in my opinion NW is best in the Harbour. It seems to funnel past the island better. Problem is it's the only place for miles that works on a NW. gets damn busy

Enjoy people. I really need a decent session but they've been very few and far between at the moment.

Sorry guys, I had such a **** night at the fire station (2hrs sleep) that I couldn't think of anywhere else except my own bed. With northerlies coming in did you know the lagoon at calshot can be used and usable in any wind direction. Membership is £50 a year but includes free parking for members, showers, changing rooms etc etc. In midday neap tides it stays waist deep all day

DM, cheers for the text offer of lift. I am more than happy to share lifts in the future/take turns driving. Makes more sence for me to meet you in basingstoke as it's further south than newbury.

Cheers guys

Hope you had a good day. Looks gusty down there on the internet
