  1. Been out of the buggying for a while. Can buggying still be done at Henwick field, Thatcham. If not, can someone give me a list of places you can go to please cheers Alex
  2. Is buggying on henwick still allowed? I used to buggy years ago and wondered about it again. Park at bottom of greenham road is stroud green.
  3. pics of everything http://s262.photobucket.com/albums/ii115/firefighteralex/kitesurfing/?albumview=slideshow
  4. Will separate 8.5New complete with new bar and new lines £450 (price based on what one just went on ebay for) I just don't like their final fee's 12.5 £350 complete with bar and lines that were used twice from new Placebo board £250 I'll knock £50 off if buying 2 items together
  5. Yugga am unable to answer your pm as it says you have exceeded your pm storage space and cann't recieve any more messages.
  6. I am going to be selling my kite gear (not taken pics yet as only decided 5 mins ago) 12M Flexifoil ION3 bought second hand from S2AS with 2 pro small repairs done by them. It had a couple of small holes in the fabric. 8 M Flexifoil ION3 bought brand new. Never been inflated as I never got out. Both kites come with bar and lines to suit eack one. The bar for the 8M has never been used. The bar for the 12M was also new and has been used twice by me. The board is a Placebo board 134x41. Again, used twice. (or rather tried to use twice) it was also bought brand new. It is obviously imaculate. Will include a pump (unused) and harrness....yes....used twice.lol The reason I am selling is purely I don't get the time to get out and learn. As I am primarily a windsurfer I have decided to stick to that as I can go out in pretty much any conditions from force 4 -8 and wind direction. I am after £950 for the lot. I haven't been looking at prices so at the moment this is a guess based on ebay sales but the 8M was a £800 kite. The board was £350. The bar and lines retail for £250 each and one is as I said brand new and unused. PM me if you want to know more. will take pics when it stops raining, except for the 8M as this has never been pumped up so want to leave it that way. 8. Hi, This is that bloke that came on the forum a year ago, did lessons in poole. Met DJ +1 (sorry can't remember who). I then did nothing for a year as got heavily into rock climbing. I am now back and have been out again. Am getting on board and managed to stay upwind in calshot. I am after people to go down with mid week. The 2 Newbury people I go with are weekend only and I have weekday possibilities due to fire service shifts. I don't mind where and am a member at Hayling and calshot so anyone going out? For short notice my number is 07979737163. I know basigstoke from newbury isn't exactly on the way. But would rather lift share and get somewhere with others than drive all the way and wind no one.
  9. I'm planning on going to hillhead on tuesday if thats any good. PM me if you are. I'm at the same level as you and also on ion3's
  10. As said above they don't fill up with water and sink. They are really warm. The only issue we have at work with them is if you haven't expelled the air inside and fall into water head first you could end up with all the air trapped in the book end and that wanting to stay on the surface instead of your head end. In the fire service we wear extra large life jackets to stop this and right the wearer. Never seen it happen though. I personally don't use a drysuit in the winter. My sola 6.5.3. is plenty warm enough. I've used it in Jan/feb in force 8's windsurfing. The only downside is getting changed.
  11. will do both for £900 or £1100 with board. Will through in harness if all bought together.
  12. Let down so now back up. £550 for the 8.5 BRAND NEW never inflated, new bar new lines, not unravelled £450 for the 12.5 USED with 2 small pro repairs, New bar and lines. connected to kite once to check kite out Board £250 New. Placed on water once but never been riden or had feet in straps
  13. been offered £900 for both kites so will probably go for that as it saves hasstle selling the 12.5 on its own
  14. I have decided that I don't have time for kitesurfing as since buying all the equipment after lessons I have managed to get out one day just to inflate my 12.5 M kite in not enough wind to keep it up. This means I don't have the time to get anywhere with the sport so am returning to windsurfing (sorry) as I am a lot safer on this. Flexifoil ION 3 8.5 BRAND NEW Not even unpacked from bag. New control Bar with New lines Flexifoil ION 3 12.5 Bought from S2AS with 2 10 pence size repairs done by them but that all thats wrong with it. It was sold by them as "excellent dondition" apart from this. This also comes with new control bar and new lines . They have been connected to the kite and got wet once as described in above text. New RRD placebo board 134-41. Brand new apart from I floated it out at sand banks while I tried to fly the 12.5 meter. Thats it only use. It has never even had feet in the footstraps. Harness used once too Looking for £950 for both kites complete. come with pumps as well board £250 Will throw in the used once harness if bought all together
  15. Sorry guys, I had such a **** night at the fire station (2hrs sleep) that I couldn't think of anywhere else except my own bed. With northerlies coming in did you know the lagoon at calshot can be used and usable in any wind direction. Membership is £50 a year but includes free parking for members, showers, changing rooms etc etc. In midday neap tides it stays waist deep all day DM, cheers for the text offer of lift. I am more than happy to share lifts in the future/take turns driving. Makes more sence for me to meet you in basingstoke as it's further south than newbury. Cheers guys Hope you had a good day. Looks gusty down there on the internet
  16. I've just managed to get someone to comeinto work early for me tomorrow so will now leave newbury between 8.15-8.30. You boys will have to look after me down there thought as this is only the 4th time out.....Always seem to be working when it's windy. See ya tomorrow.
  17. Unfortunately for me I don't finish my night shift till 9am so can't do an early start and have to be back at work by 5-30pm. I just looked at forecast and shows 17-20 knots ish but NW. I am guessing NW is gusty as hell??? To gusty for a beginner?? If you are planning on going could prob be in basingstoke for 10am if its worth it for beginner If you don't read this till tonight text me on 07979737163 with what you are doing. Can't answer mobile as will be at work and mobiles are banned in our pockets, as well as the internet, but will text back. Failing that you can call me at the fire station on 01635 41406.
  18. Anyone going out the next couple of days.....I'm just going down to poole as its shallow and i'm **** but if anyone wants to meet up I'll be there
  19. I think it was in around 2000/2001. It was a long time ago. I'll ask my brother in law as he was having lessons that year. Lessons have come on a long way since he had some. I remember the instructor hooking him into a kite and then asking me (why he asked me I've no idea) to hold him down as the wind was howling and if i let his harness go his feet just started floating. There was a lot of lift. Even then, when i knew nothing of kiting I thought this wasn't good instruction. Oh yeah, if anyone ever needs a spanish translator to book Tarifa holidays then let me know as wife is fluent which isn't suprising as she grew up there. Theres loads of places to stay near Tarifa depending if you want to be in it or happy for a drive each day.
  20. Yeah i only just found out and saw it on the evening news. Due to wifes family living near Tarifa I have been there when the worlds best have been doing comps. Although when I was there there was an exclution zone around the competitors. About 60 feet was as close as you could get to Robby Naish. Good to watch in the sae though
  21. yeah i've just seen the forecast and it doesn't look too nice for a beginner like me. I'll look in the morning but if no ones coming out to play I might give it a miss till it looks less aggressive. Well I woke up this morning and decided that perhaps today wouln't be a good day for me. As much as I want to go out the forecast on tv said F7 and wind guru had 20knots gusting to over 30. I think I'll wait till a slightly calmer day..frustrating as hell though, especially as I've got my nice new ion3's and board..
  22. I'm coughing up less stuff now!! Its just sniffing. Anyone going out tomorrow?
  23. perhaps I shoould have got a tuning fork instead of pressure guage.lol:D
