bug Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 It has arrived a 9.5 Sabre, but it is raining, so martie you think I am brainwashed, FLEXI, you will have to try it out some time, FLEXI, they are a brilliant kite, FLEXI, even Frenzy flyers have commented on how good they are, FLEXI. I am not brainwashed FLEXI. Quote
bug Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Oh yes Mubster, FLEXI Sabre is cheaper than the renies I mean Frenzy, FLEXI. Quote
Brother Dave Posted May 25, 2005 Author Report Posted May 25, 2005 yeah but what gets me is a Sabre looks like a Frenzy and also a frenzy was out way before a sabre came along. Quote
bug Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Well I do not car what it looks like you can say that about a lot of other kites, but the Sabre I thinks flies better and is a lot faster more stable and cheaper, but everybody to their own. Everytime you get a new toy you just want to be happy and that I am, do you want to but a 4.9 blade III dave?? Quote
chisp Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 il just have to wait till my shoulder heals before i get a shot Ditto. My shoulder is still painful too but Im back on the bike now and riding into work. Perhaps next weekend.. Hope you get out soon too. Quote
8015 Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 The original frenzy was designed and produced cheaply as an experiment in snowkiting, the fact that it has become legendary just shows that Ozone got it pretty well right first time. If the Frenzy is the be all and end all, why are Ozone still improving it? Have Flexifoil jumped on the bandwagon too late? Probably not, there are loads of mountainboarders out there asking for new depower kites, the problem is that the Frenzy's biggest market always has been and still is snowkiting, and we don't get much of that here. Flexifoil market share is much smaller where there is snow - I wonder if the sabre will do as much for Flexifoil as the frenzy has for Ozone? I dare say it will make a big impact in the UK, and I wish them the best with it! Bugs point is the most important though - fly the kite that YOU like the handling of! I also assume that with flexifoil's greater experience in kitesurfing that the safety system is more reliable than a frenzy? Speaking of which, I'm away for a bit and in case I forget, can you all make sure I change my depower rope before using my G15 again? The last one I made is too thick and doesn't release very well. bug Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Boater change your depower rope, the Sabre has two systems on it and they work extreemly well. Quote
Mubster Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 i wasn't having a go at the saber, by all accounts its a great kite... the point i was making is that peeps haven't really flown depoweables, but as soon as someone says "its the kite to buggy with' everyone runs out and buys them without trying it first... and if thats not Flexi marketing, well i'm a pole dancer!! rant over "if Ozone made lager, it would probably be the best lager in the world..." Quote
bug Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 But I did try it before I bought one, and if some one asks nicely and I know that they are competant flyers then I may let them have a go, I would not purchase a pair of shoes without trying them on first. is the sabre the best kite TRUE!! :D Quote
grantyg Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Try before you buy - I`m just glad we don`t try on pants before we buy. Great points all - I have flown lots of depower kites but non have conviced me to pop one in my kite bag. I only like the sabre for high winds 20 plus because of the depower and stability sub 25mph is the 6.6 and 8.5 blade I just love fixed power! Hanging onto a 4.9 blade in 25 mph scottish weather isn`t that comfy up here in scotland our wind is different. (It smells fresher for a start) My point is to tailor your kit for your riding style in your location - so a sabre 7 metre might not be the choice for some one who flies in a different part of the country - likewise riding powered up on a blade in land isn`t funny!
