Chasta hits NZ

Yes that is right Chasta the man himself along with the rest of the Ozone Snowkite team will be coming to New Zealand to explore the terrain while snowkiting as much as possible.

Chasta and Pascal Boulgakow, the legend cameraman arrive in New Zealand in 10 days to capture what we plan to be incredible footage. Dom is also joing them for 2 weeks and we aim to get all the landkite images of the new kites at the same time as they travel around this stunning country

They are on a one month road trip heading to every snowkitable spot in NZ. The scenery is stunning here and the free-ride opportunities endless.

Pascal will be making short videos and taking dreamy pictures, we already have all the mainstream magazines lined up waiting for the stories from this Ozone Snowkite Adventure

Going to be one of the best first times snowkiting for me, learning from the pros.

Frenzy FX sounds a bit to new age, finally got to fly a Manta while I was overseas visiting relatives in the UK. I wonder how improved the Manta II is over the original?

Just to let you guys know that these things aint gonna be released for quite sometime yet, probs around sept/oct time in the uk, so should be with you next may/june...lol

After speaking to Matt this morning, i can let you all know that the boys will be out to take shots of the new stuff, but more importantly to test the new range to the Max, everything is still at proto stage and no release dates have been set for the new range, so nothing is set in concrete as yet, who knows, things may still change on the final release of the new range. As you are all aware, the factory is maxed out at the moment with the current range and still has a few things to release before next seasons range.... so dont all start getting ready for the new range just yet, you may still have quite a wait for next seasons range. But from what i can gather from Matt, its gonna be worth the wait, Rob has been working double hard on next seasons range.

im smelling something here. zenon had news about the ozone frenzy fx acess xc and manta ii originally in his post. now it has disappeared in his post and appo is playing down their release. snowkite season is coming so i doubt the kites are as far off as is being made out. do all team riders think the world is stupid? someone stepped in poo pie.

Basically "toeside", Zenon abused his position of working in a store and leaked a confidential email from Ozone that was only for Ozone dealers, this was a generic email that gets sent out to keep everyone informed of up and coming projects, i mean come on, lets face it...how long ago was everyone aware of the vizion?? and has it been released yet?? so make of it what you will, if your silly enough (not stupid) to get rid of kites or hold of buying anything based on a leaked email, you may be in for quite a long wait.

It like any retail business, what you see in your stores at christmas is tested the december before and retail outlets are making orders the in the january.

So what has gone on here is simple, Distributors get an email very early on to let them know about projects happening way ahead of anyone else so to help with stock levels and business projection for the seasons stock etc.... and Zenon has done a silly thing by leaking information about next seasons kit, im sure to make himself look good here...

No one is trying to make out that your "Stupid", make of this what you will, the only person with egg on his face here is Zenon, has he has broken the outter circle of trust here, and leaked confidential information...not a wise move IMHO.

So if any of this stuff is released this year, your looking at the start of the EU snowkiting season, which is October, which is still quite some time away. Im not playing the release down in anyway for what so ever... yes we are all excited about the new stuff, but to start thinking they are due out soon, would be a silly thing to assume.

I understand all of what you are saying and can understand the responses people are going to take from this thread. In my defence i am not trying to defend myself and make out that i am all innocent and have done nothing wrong but i recieved an email from the NZ Ozone distributor with the above mentioned infomation. I did not recieve this email from working in any shop. I work in a shop that sells flexifoil, No Ozone stock whatso ever. I am mates with the owner of the local ozone store but so i bet are many of you in australia. He recieved the same email as i did.

So to be honest if anyone is to blame we can trace it back to my distributor for passing on this so called confidential information, which then is possibly lead back to Ozone for failing to tell him that he is not to pass this infomation on to any third partys. As i said i am not trying to get the blame off my back and i can understand any thoughts people are going to have about me and my trustworthyness from now on wether they post there thoughts or not, but i am truely sorry for any Sh&% i have stirred up.

I am not trying to stir up a dust cloud nor do i plan on doing any such thing in the future.

Appo is still right and any new kites from ozone are still a way off. You can take for example both the above mentioned "Vision" and the "Stealth buggy" both were heard of in much the same way as this and both are still not officially released.

Personally I can't see Zenon breaking anything here. He received an email from Ozone, and probably spotted the opportunity to be the first at the table with this information. I'm sure if it was clear to Zenon that this email was confidential then he would not have come boasting on the forums about it.

And as he has said, his shop is not an Ozone store. So maybe this whole debacle has nothing to do with Zenon, and thus he has no egg on his face. Perhaps Ozone should look closer to where their emails are going, opposed to shooting the messenger. What about looking at who transported that information in the first place.

Some of us are more privvy to information then others, yes. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that new kites will be appearing. You only need to look at Ozone's history over the most recent years too see this. Ozone barely ever release one generation of kite then shelve it. Ozone Access, Frenzy, Samurai, Instinct are all examples of Ozone's evolution of kites year to year.

Access 2 vs Access XC ? Well I personally thought the Access2 was where they were going to take it.

Frenzy 07 vs Frenzy FX ? I was expecting one more Frenzy to be on the cards.

Manta vs Manta II ? If you fly any Ozone product you would only need to be a doofbag to not realise they would be releasing a version 2 of this kite.

Timing for releases ? Just look at the European seasons etc to get a better idea of when kites are going to be released.

It doesn't take a genius to be able to pick if and when new kites are coming from Ozone. I would already expect a HAKA II on the cards sometime 8month to 12 months away. Simply because they are pushing towards a direction with that kite, and it will take 3 or 4 evolutions of the kite to hit that spot.

One thing I am suprised they haven't done yet is a Yakuza II seeing their frequent updates with the rest of the range.

Either way it is out in the open now, and people are talking about it. While those of us more privvy to information will know more detail, or when a completely new kite is coming out. None of what Zenon posted is revolutionary, rather evolutionary. And for the most part any monkey in a zoo could have seen the snowkite range being updated.

I don't think Zenon has done anything wrong from what details have been posted here. If confidential information is released by a company, then it should have a permanent "Confidential" marking. If someone then forwards that info on, it is still clearly marked.

This issue is clearly Ozone (incl. distributors) problem and quite clearly a result of their own lapse in security of information. To pass the blame onto a 3rd Party like Zenon is a breach of corporate professionalism by Ozone & their representatives and in my view is defamation against Zenon as he is not affiliated with Ozone as either an employee, representative or distributor.

@Zenon: I am sure you would not have passed the info on if you believed it was confidential. We are not all dumb arses here, and some of us can clearly see through the mask of blame being laid here.

I think Appo owes Zenon a public apology and Ozone (and reps like Appo) should be looking at their own distributors breaches of information security.

@Appo: I am not trying to personally insult or attack you but honestly, even you can see this is a breach of corporate confidentiality by the Ozone distribution network.

I'm with Joel and Pete here... I don't think anything was really leaked. I'd even go as far as saying that it could be a 'marketing' leak. Like ozone like to do... release a few pics, a little bit of info and get all the forums buzzing about their next seasons gear.

And of course.... the next seasons stuff will turn faster, have more lift and be safer.

We all already know that the 2008 range comes out at the end of 2007.

I just wonder what all of this saturation of the new kite market will do in the long run. Selling 1 season old gear is already a 'bending over'

Zenon, I owe you an apology, im man enough to say when i'm wrong, and after you have forwarded me the email you received telling you all about the NZ tour etc, i can see from just where the info came from. So yes, i was wrong to blame you. I hope you accept.

But 1 thing is for certain, the email that you received does have quotes and info from an email that WAS marked confidential in its initial email from Ozone. and the blame on this lays with the person who used that info in this "Mail" shot, and not yourself.

Although this matter does have NOTHING realy to do with me or any team rider etc... we strive to be our best and help kiters and the world wide community on a day to day basis, and when i read quotes that "us team riders must think your all stupid" etc.... it kinnda hurts.

And yes guys, we can see just where the blame is with on this, and yes imho something needs to be said.its not fair on the rest of the Ozone network that work double hard to make things happen.

But i can assure you this was not a clever marketing gimmick, confidential information about next seasons kit was sent out in a "mail shot" by a Distributor, and that was wrong!!

all emails of this kind are clearly marked, confidential.

Im am not the kind of guy to try and hurt any ones character and trust. the same way as i strive to make mine the best it can be and help the kiting community.

so hope we can move on here.

I think maybe this has escalated a bit more than needed. It's not like we don't know ozone will be releasing new kites before the end of the year. They are busy, busy boys.
