icanfly Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 Whats with this lack of wind?! Apparently last week while i was in france (where we had no wind) it was really strong here in the uk! This week when i get back it drops off to 0-3 mph, continuing through to next week! AAAAAAAAAAAGGGHH, its driving me mad, it the beggining of a new semester when i dont have so much work to do and its dry and sunny but no sodding wind! Any suggestions for some cheap massive fans/propellers/jet engines/small children waving sheets of perspex, please post here! Quote

Tempest_Riders Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 It was pretty bad on this side of the planet the last couple of days as well. I stood out in the field 3 days in a row looking at a flat 12 meter Frenzy. Boy they sure pack up nice with no wind around. Quote
Dangerboy Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Just looked at the BBC website to check the 5 day forecast. Looks like Wednesday could be a good start with winds looking to pick up some more towards the end of the week. I've been busy the last few weekends so have not been buggying for a while Chance for me to try my new 7m or maybe the 5.5m Busters I bought a couple of weeks ago. God I need to do some flying soon! Quote
icanfly Posted February 17, 2004 Author Report Posted February 17, 2004 ps: i'm back on the IOW on the 20th March til the 18th of april, when you back for easter? Yeh i think i will be back on the same date as that! Not sure how long im gunna stay down, if the winds good then as long as possible! I was out yesterday trying to fly my mates brand spanking new 6.6 blade, he only got it yesterday and it would barely get off the groound. Got my cabrinha up and had enough wind to fly it but not really enough to get moving on the board. Apparently the south coast is getting wind at the mo? Damn it! Quote
kiting mad Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 wel weve had 8 mph today looking forward to some nice 15 tomorow 3.4 lads Quote
blackdragon Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Its all my fault, finished my NPW9b 3.3 on the last windy day we had, and thought " I won't boter to mess with tuning it to day, should be wind tommrow I'll do it then" and ever since its been dead. Quote
icanfly Posted February 18, 2004 Author Report Posted February 18, 2004 We had wind yesterday, went flying at 4 after uni. Flew mates brand new 6.6 blade. It was brilliant 4.9 was up but a bit underpowered! More wind today and right through to weekend. WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO. Quote
blackdragon Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 there still is no wind down here in minehead so unfair, although I looking up past the lifless trees to see the realy high clouds flying along. Now where can I get 7 mile long lines from? and what size kite would i need to hold that much line up? Quote
icanfly Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 Now where can I get 7 mile long lines from? Me and a friend joined together some lines and we flew a 4.9 blade on equivilant to 100m lines! The kite turned like a pig! Quote
