trebor Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Yeah, ive had a chat with Chris ( HKN ) about this before - he's usually quite happy for his stuff to get out there with appropriate credit. Quote

trebor Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Alliright chaps - we on for this?? - can any locals give us some good weekends with regards to tides in Feb? Quote
rasga Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Cool, i was going to bump this up a few days ago. . ..im getting better. .the longer we leave the more things i can do . . wohooo manuals/wheelies! Quote
adamski Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Hi! I have just bought board and kite, all the gear.. NO idea type!! I am also an ex presenter for a video channel with REALLY cheap access to PRO video (digital 3 ccd) kit and a dv camcorder with a "helmet cam". If you want it "stringing" in an ALMOST coherent manner and are looking for an idiot to teach the principles to please just say:) Could I just caution you that ONE video at a time would be a plan... basics... inter THEN an expert one. Simple reason that the basics one would be an excellent grounding for the "crew", lots of statics and low speed action to tune the camera dudes eye in, and time to discover what will and wont work. Any thing I can do, please ask, ego not on display here so if you don't want me in but would just like input I will not be offended, just happy to help my new hobby/sport (not sure which yet) in any way. Adam Quote
rasga Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Sounds like someone has some of the required gear; i'm sure if we get a few riders there you would be up and running in no time Though could get confusing with a few boarders there!; damnit. . .i want the expert one so i can see what i'm meant to be doing; though knowing me better go back to basics but some good thoughts there! rasga Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 General Ideas : plucked from thread. . add more! Things Wanted in Video: -Getting onto board, -Getting up,down, across wind -Stopping (powerslides, and other methods) -Transitional Slides -Toeside, Gybe & Slide method -Blind Riding -Jumps (including jumping out of toeside etc) -Manuals -Transition Jumps (from going one direction and on landing going back the other way) -Things to do in air including : grabs, spins, no footers etc. . . -riding one handed -carving -low wind tricks/techniques (i.e. slow looping the kite for consistent pull) -holding down more power while remaining in control -setting up depower kites for the prevailing conditions luffing on valved and non valved foils and how to deal with it -emergency procedure breakdown of tricks (visualise move, show without kite and board, then show each and its positions through the manouvere) Camera Ideas: -Car Cam, -Board Cam -Kite Cam -Static Cam -Helmet Cam Presentation, slow moves sequenced, frame by frame, split screens. Idea being you can see the action of the kite, the board, what it all looks like from distance for timing, and in flight coolness! Idea of Filming Process -Basics -Advanced -FUN : whole making of the videos and turn it into a real "Road Trip" type of thing, this would appeal to people wanting to see general ar$ing about on and off the boards, with or without kites and all the out take type stuff which would be pure comedy value. Mix it with some tunes and bobs your uncle Maybe a 3-D arrow for those new people that would show them wind direction and wind window. Thats thatm, so any more tricks, and more wants. . anything i missed on the list? Quote
adamski Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Sounds gud to me... then I am happy just not being dragged up a field on my face:D MORE importantly it sounds do-able!! I would buy this, that is the bench mark you should aim for. OK, anyone want to talk to Flexi about sponsorship? Wont cost them the earth, they could sell the vid too:D Quote
Blade nut Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 hey, this sounds good, i'd be happy to film/do footage etc, this is summin that people can need, just to simply see whta to do to start MBN; likes the idea...he also like being on film Quote
trebor Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Good condensed list their Rasga, if we can break it down to a schedule on a weekend shoot then we could maybe have a seperate camera on each ( x2 ??) boarder, each tasked to cover certain moves - this way we could build up the footage we need quickly. Adamski - thanks for the offer on the kit - what sort of stuff can you get hold of cheaply? - I'm currently using a trv900 3ccd which gives a pretty good picture - also have 2.4ghz wireless kit running from a hi res bulletcam. I know Jim has some pretty good stuff but if you could get hold of a canon xl1s/ pd150 easily I'd be glad to hear more about it. Do you have any presenting footage online we can have a look at ?? I can do most weekends in Feb except the last ( hitting some powder :D ) - any idea on tides - availablity of everyone?? How many boarders do we have out there??? Looking forward to it!! :D Quote
the_lone_wolf Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 when is this gonna be happening? - i'd love to be part of it, especially if i can be on the board in a couple of the maneuveres:D - let me know when it's going on and i'll try to get rjw to give me a lift wherever it is for a w/e bash away:D:D:D - waddaya say J? Quote
trebor Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 LOL - i'd be right in there with my impressive array of tricks - the top one being high deceleration 90degree rotations :D Quote
mkratty Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 could someone post dates and locations of the shoot also if you pm drunkmonkey he has made a video of some atb advanced tricks big airs and rotations im sure you may be able to use some Quote
Blade nut Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 heh, ppl getting excited, so long as we can put that into positive movment, we could have something... heh, well, i'd have to get a lift to where ever it is, so any body near reading/close to a theams trains station, i can get to there... othrthing is of course, wind...will it be there MBN; will perform a traditional wind dance to please the gods of nature... Uncle Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Cheers for the bump rasga (would never have found it) sound to me like all the right people are willing to join in and help out, all you need now is a venue that everyone is willing to turn up to, Wallop was mentioned once, perhaps that could be the right place...just a thought. Quote
The Flyin Scotsman Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Uncle, Rasga and me have just been talking about Wallop actually gonna talk to a few people and see what we can do. Kev, KiteATB.co.uk Quote
Uncle Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Ah you see i have all the advice in the world to give but however none of the skill (yet of course). It could be that once you get to wallop more peeps will come forward to donate their skill. as you both know loads of vidoes are posted after wallop perhaps a general snout around for some of the best makers might be a good idea, i know that trebor wants to knock something together for the beer tent for wallop.... rasga Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 yeah some ideas are rocking. .just the actual rider issue and the camera issue. . . .hopefully get some people interested at MW time to get in touch with the people who can ride! Quote
Uncle Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Skydude was thinking of choping up an old tripod and attaching his camcorder (in some sort of safety device) to his buggy, also thinks he might like to get a helmet cam (not to sure on that one) but will make some suggestions and help to develop the idea... trebor Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Glad to see this thread alive again:rolleyes: Both Lou ( other half ) and I are gonna be wandering around filming this year on sunday and monday, and I'd love to try and setup shots with riders, so if you see me on the field ( i'll probably be sporting a bright red m-squared buggy t-shirt ) please stop and have a chat, especially if you've got some groovy moves to pull :D I was thrilled by the feedback from last year's vid , and it looks like it has been downloaded thousands of times - just wanna make it better this time round:) Quote
