Did they, or are they going to charge you duty for the board, and or kites? I'm coming back to oz soon and bringing alot of kit with me, and am wondering how to avoid troubling customs on my return. They aRE all used but where bought within the last 12 months.
cheers.
p.s if you come down to melbourne there will be a couple of us who can lend you a board.
maybe even convince you into a race
Yeh I went up there this march for 2 weeks, I had a great time. I stayed in a place called Haugastøl, which is half way between Geilo and Finse. The kitable area is absolutle massive!! serveral hundred sq kms. Well worth the trip up there.
my friend had one, and they DO where the wheels fast! When you slide, they wear on one edge resulting very quickly with a lop-sided wheel, which makes for a lumpy ride. I'm not saying they are not great fun, just that the wheels wear out FAST!
um haven't you picked the wrong time of year to want to go snowkiting? Also (and maybe more importantly) think about where you are snowkiting. Alot of the time the nicest spots are off over in the middle of nowhere, not on a nice groomed and patrolled ski slope. So you will need to think alot more about planning and what (safety) gear to bring. The weather can be very unpredictable and if you are not properly prepared, you'll end up as a meat popsicle. Remember the 6 p's - Prior Planning Prevents P*ss Poor Performance
I fly a 5m frenzy 05 in higher winds and it handles great, much better I think than a fixed bridle. A friend of mine used to fly 2 and 3m bullets in high winds, not much pull unless you really worked them
check out this video of a couple of Norwegian kiters jumping off the side of a hill http://www6.nrk.no/design/download/power/marius/Video/DyranutFlysession.wmv
Re: the last post, I think that flexifoil should have an entire section dedicated to flaming, that way the rest of us can get on with it.
cheers.
p.s I hate you all...
How much difference does the tire diameter have on speed. I currently have a 8" tires on my mbs and was wondering if putting the 9" tires on would increase my speed. any other pluses/minuses?
cheers
does anyone have any comments, good or bad, on the new f-one kites (m5, dream) as I can find little in the way of reviews on the net. is that because there isn't many around or because they're french?
I've booked a four bed place in Haugastøl (just outside geilo) if you are interested. its about 30 pounds a night and has its own kitchen and bathroom. I'm going from the 8th til 18th march. pm if you are interested.

I definately agree there. flying a blade on a bar is quite restrictive. you can get more out of it with handles. start with by hooking in to give your arms a rest and then move on. it can be a weird feeling to start with but is worth it. have fun in sweden too
