bladeII4.9 Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 go for a flexi, its a bit more than the plc but i have looked at it in the shop and it looks better than the plc. it has a wider seat so that u can shift ur position depending on the kite and its got better footpegs. also the seat is better. i havent actualy buggied in the flexi ive just sat in it in a shop. mdou Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 Greengiant - I'm in the same position as you as I'm just about to get a buggy. I too am 6'2 & about nearly 16 stone. Have a look on this link: Kite Buggy Reviews at Prokites.Com The review seems very good & fair and will give you a chance to make your mind up. I should be getting a Libre special when I can afford it as it seems the best bet for a tall chap like me (us?) I have used the Flexi 2001 as well - which I found very good. Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 I'm 6'3'' and 15.5 stone and my PL Comp is fine for me but would defo go for the Libre Special having tried one since. More solid, roomier and better quality. Cheers Bob. Quote
Draggin Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 I will be getting a buggy in the next 6 weeks at the mo my top three are Libre Special Flexi with wide rear axle PL Comp XR I have had a go in a V-Max but unfortunately my piggy bank won't stretch that far. The other question is where everybody going to get one from?? Tim Quote
youngsimon Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 try this link http://www.flexifoil.com/community/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9375 or search for "which buggy" i liked the special but got a v-max and a lived in the shed for a while all GOOD kite shops seem to be the same price http://www.coastguard-kites.com/ you get "freestuff" http://www.powerkiteshop.com/ price promise gave me a good price for a v-max http://www.kiteshop-uk.com/ might do a good price (worked for me) or go abroad to http://www.kite-sales.com/en/ or http://www.trick-of-the-eye-kites.co.uk/ http://www.kite-sales.com/en/ now have a better price list and is easer to buy from look at this link if you are thinking of a Peter Lynn buggy http://www.virtualkitestore.com/erol/erol.html you might want to find out why they are not selling them at the moment Quote
Draggin Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 Cheers Simon The PL comp XR is there new one which has only been out a few months, but it only got a narrow rear end so I don't think it will move from No.3 in my list. I guy down are way has started to produce wide rear ends for flexi buggies that also add a few inches in lenght as well. I guess those axle cheaper than the flexi wide so it might be one of those. Ginger Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 I can vouch for the strength of the flexi buggy as I am 17 stone but I'm only 5'11 tall. mates of mine who are taller do struggle slightly with it. :D Quote
bungle Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 the best of both use Flexi 2002 buggy, PL seat and a swan neck down tub this set up lowers the ride and seat depth making it more stable in the turns and better for tricking. one last addition a back rest. Quote
bladeII4.9 Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 y the pl seat??? the flexi is better Quote
Greengiant Posted April 27, 2003 Author Report Posted April 27, 2003 Thanks for the opinions guys. I think the best thing to do is to go and sit in some. Quote
Jonesing4Wind Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 I am 6' 4" and 16 stone. I have no real complaints about my PLCrap 2002, but then again I have not been in any other buggies. From what I hear, a v-max is about the best, but who can afford that? just my 2 sense..... :~) Quote
bungle Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 The PL seat is ajustable so you can have it as deep as you like, that way you tuck into the side rails. less chance of a (top fule blow out) being pulled out of the seat sideways in the turns at full speed. Quote
Kiteboyza Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Have a look at the Chameleon Pagona 3 at http://www.kitedynamics.co.uk at £495 you get a whole lot of buggy for your money man......i'm so gonna get one Quote
Guest the guvnor Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 or for a few quid more (well quite a bit more) u can buy the bigger daddy. the iguana from cameleon. this is a monster buggy and im yet to flip it. wieghing in at 65kg with bigfoots, its a real beach cruiser. Quote
oo Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Have you considered the Libre V-Max, it's a great buggy, and I would say a happy medium... Quote
Symo Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Mmmmmmmmmmm V-max. Ideal cruising buggy Quote
