I'm thinking of buying a Xenon LaLuz 2012 132x40 for £400 (RRP £550). It's an ex-demo board and in very good condition. Just wondering if it's worth the money? Has anyone ridden this board before?

I am a girl and weigh 9.5 stone and a beginner. The guy at the shop recommended this board over a Nobile555 135x41 half the price! I'm worried he's trying to take advantage of my noobishness!

He also said 135 is about the limit I should use, a smaller board would be better but he didn't really explain why, could someone possibly explain this too?

Thanks for your help :)

Have a 138.41cm Laluz 2012 myself and think its the muts nuts! Hands down best board I have ridden and around my local at least 10percent of riders seem to agree having also got them.

I would say thats a perfect size for a beginner of your weight. Any bigger and its gonna be hard to handle when you improve and any smaller and it would be hard to get up on as a beginner. Also the laluz has a great low weight nd flex pattern which would make it very lady friendly.

BTW I am not affiliated with xenon and paid full retail for mine. Just really stocked on this boards preformance I thought I'd share the my views.

my GF is the same weight as you and she rides a 130 x 40 Monk. She's selling her 130 x 40 Gintronic for less than the boards you've been offered

The Gin would do you well, as it did for her from just starting to beyond

Don't go above 135 or you will get serious leg burn. A 135 would be a good light wind board, but not a mainstream for you

SonnyRider has THE perfect board for you! I have a 133 x 42 Gintronic and it is amazing! At your weight the 130 x 40 would be perfect!I have tried every one of the new boards from Shinn and they are all amazing, but nothing I've tried has more control and upwind ability than the Gintronic. The Shinn boards really are the best around, I wouldn't buy anything else! I'll be getting a Supershinn next, but will definitely be keeping the Gintronic for lighter winds and nuking storm sessions! The Laluz gets rave reviews, but the Gin that Sonnyridder is selling looks mint, an absolute steal I'd say! Discloser: I have no connection to Sonnyrider, no idea who he is...

Hey Surfdoode2, I just had look for the Gintronic that Sonnyrider is selling, as it was way down the list, I just bumped it to the top for you. Have a look in the for sale section of this site, it should be near the top.

The board looks frickin mint! I've had mine for over a year, given it a good beating and can say that the construction is top notch! Smoothest board ever through rough chop! Somebody needs this board, it shouldn't be collecting dust!
