  1. Is it true you have to pay to kitesurf at Derwent reservoir (North East england)? If so, why? Surely kitesurfing should be free!
  2. Is it actually £20 just to launch at Derwent reservoir? Was planning on going there tomorrow but that sounds ridiculous! Kitesurfing is free!
  3. I'm thinking of buying a Xenon LaLuz 2012 132x40 for £400 (RRP £550). It's an ex-demo board and in very good condition. Just wondering if it's worth the money? Has anyone ridden this board before? I am a girl and weigh 9.5 stone and a beginner. The guy at the shop recommended this board over a Nobile555 135x41 half the price! I'm worried he's trying to take advantage of my noobishness! He also said 135 is about the limit I should use, a smaller board would be better but he didn't really explain why, could someone possibly explain this too? Thanks for your help
  4. Is it the pure eye harness linked below? Prolimit | Kitesurf-waist | Products | Pure-eve If not could you send a link or photo of it please? Interested in it for my girlfriend. Thanks, Mark
  5. Hey, My girlfriend (9.5 stone and 5'8) has just got into kiting and has been using my 10m fone bandit 5 and 130 Nobile 555. Can stand up in both directions but struggling a bit up wind and ends up getting lofted (off the board) quite a lot! She learnt on a 15m and said she found it easier with everything happening slower. What kite would you recommend? She said she's interested in the Cabrinas although never tried one. I'm thinking she should stick to a 10m, possibly 12? Any ideas/advice or offers? Cheers, Mark ps. also looking for a board around 135.
  6. How about the Fone bandit 3s? Tried one of them the other day and loved it think it has to be a 2011 kite really, don't wanna spend over £1000.
  7. I've finally worn my first kite (a 10m Blade Vertigo Hybrid) into the ground with almost every part of it snapping after 5 years. Any ideas on what to get? I loved the quick turning and excellent depower on my Blade Vertigo so would like to keep these in my next kite but would also like to buy one of the more modern kites designed for wave riding. And of course the one pump system, I hate pumping my struts! Thanks for any suggestions, Mark
  8. Ok, sounds good, if you could just measure the distance between the holes as well? And have you got a photo please?
  9. Ok, how much do you want for this? I've already ordered the Seconds proto CKB but if its not too expensive I might buy this one as well if its more comfortable, Cheers, Mark
  10. Is that 150mm between holes as well then and how much would you want for that?
  11. That proto CKB carbon handle sounds good if it will avoid me having to drill into my lovely new board! How much would you want for it?
  12. I'm looking at buying a grab handle for my ckb lb 28 and it looked like the mbs grab handle holes were 180 mm apart and I was told all grab handles have holes a standard distance apart but the predrilled holes on my ckb are only 150 mm apart. Can anyone suggest a grab handle with holes 150 mm apart? I liked the look of the Trampa handles, Thanks
  13. Thanks for advice, bought the ckb and already had about 10 sessions on it...loving it thanks again!
  14. What's wrong with the foam ones?! That's what I'm used to on my kitesurf board. Also the MBS handles are like twice the price!
  15. Alright, thanks for the advice. I think I'd be most interested in the foam Trampa handle. How much would you want for it? And also how far apart are the holes because I already have holes drilled 150mm apart and I wouldn't be able to fit anything much bigger on? Cheers, Mark
  16. Just bought a CKB lb20 but doesn't have a grab handle. I have been told that if I don't choose the right one it might shatter from flexing. Would you say it is important to choose the right handle and which ones would you recommend? Thanks, Mark
  17. Ok, well the one I'm looking at is for 8-10stone riders and im almost 11stone. But I was considering the fact that when I'm landing with a kite my landings aren't as heavy as my normal downhill landings (even when i'm going higher)! Or do you think being a stone too heavy will be a problem?
  18. Haha, ok, seems like a fairly clear answer! Thanks for the advice
  19. Trying to decide between a CKB LB28 and a Trampa (similar prices I think). Which would you recommend? Any opinions on the CKB mountain boards? Thanks, Mark
  20. Hi Natty, do you reckon you could give a price please because I need to get a board quite soon and a price on your board will help me decide between a trampa deck or your board. I'm in Durham at the moment so think I might be quite near you. Thanks, Mark
  21. Haha, no, that's a good point. Does anyone know where natty is or if there is a better way to get hold of her? I'm driving through Yorkshire today if there is any chance of a test ride? I could bring some money too?! Or is it Wales at the moment?
  22. Well I can get a brand-new trampa for 200 quid so just need a price from natty for this board and then I should be able to decide between the two fairly easy. By the way natty, I'll probs be driving through Yorkshire tomorrow so would be good if I could have a look at it then (I'm about 11stone so need to check I'm not too heavy!). Anyway let me know if you're about. Cheers, Mark
  23. I was hoping closer to 100 pounds with it being secondhand. But maybe if I could have a look at it first I would have a better idea as to what it's worth with these boards varying so much! It says your from north yorks, is that like Yorkshire coz I'm driving from Devon to Durham in a few days if you're at all on route? Cheers, Mark
  24. Ok, sounds good. Roughly how much money would you want for it?
  25. Ok, sounds good. How much were you wanting for it?
