D3. Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 To fix this problem is it just a case of joining the two edges whilst bladder deflated with a patch, then inflating bladder and strenghening the join? Help appreciated. I have repaired puctures before but a mate has gotten himself a tear so a little stumpped. Cheers D3. Quote
harry_a Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 where is it? and what size? pop a pic up.. it might be saved via the wonders of an iron i've done a couple before Quote
GeorgeFromDevon Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 petes your man he can fix anything!! kite surfing shops in devon Quote
D3. Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 The tear is 2 inches. Its a little to big to inflate the bladder first - which is what i would do with a puncture. Worry is around fixing it, inflating it only to find the bladder has addtional stress points around the patch Quote
kevin210303 Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 like george says, give it to pete at kitemare Quote
RichieRipz Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 If it's only a couple of inches this will sort it: KiteFix Ultra-Adhesive MONSTER Bladder Patch It's a giant self adhesive patch, just cut it to size. Make sure you lay the bladder really flat when you apply it, and overlap by at least an inch on the good bladder material. In my experience it works a charm. You can find them on eBay. Quote
mick Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 The thing about a sticky patch is that as soon as the kite is inflated, every part of the bladder is pressed against the leading edge tube so its can't come off. If you are gonna stick it, make sure you clean it with a solvent prior to stickingness. Quote

RedSky Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Be very careful not to stick both sides of the bladder together through the tear and take care to insure that the bladder is completely flat before sticking the patch. Quote
