I'm a BMW/mini specialist and I see this all the time.
Tyre pressures don't get checked regularly and it's common to see rather expensive runflat tyres wear on inner and outer edges. The pressures must be checked often despite having a runflat monitoring system, this system doesn't actually check the pressures but works by watching the speed of each wheel, if one wheel spins at a different speed to the others it's likely the circumference has altered due to pressure loss, if all 4 tyres lose pressure over time, and they will, the system can't know and won't bring up the warning light.
I often send poeple to one of our local tyre guys, he's not the cheapest but him and his boys know their onions, they also have a proper 4 wheel alignment ramp, not just lazer pens clamped onto the wheels. It costs about £60 to run the test and prices go up by roughly £20 a go with any adjustments. We also suggest to replace the runflat tyres with normal ones and carry in the boot a small kit with sealant and a compressor. Feedback from my customers who have done so has been very positive, the ride is much more pleasant due to softer sidewalls, and road noise is reduced too, not to mention the cost benefits.
KSA is correct, changing brake pads is a simple job but only if you are confident and fairly technically minded (on a mini the service counter must be reset too). I'm happy to get oily and my hands scratched but Im sure there's all sorts of things Moose can do with a mouse.
As for QuickFit, sadly some folks have to go there as their lease plan dictates it, otherwise I would avoid.
