  1. Did he kill the wind by buying a new kite?
  2. Not Ion5 but I used to fly Ion2 and 3 on 5 lines, like you state, the safety is errr safe, and the kite turns with more power

    Kite manners

I was at a beach recently that I visit only once or twice a year, and I like it there, but it seems nobody really follows rights of way or rules of the road. I find myself constantly moving my kite up or down to pass while the other party just looks where they are heading with their kite locked in the position they fancy. I can spot a noob like Andy or Mick a mile off so would cut them some slack or give a wide birth, but I'm talking about competant riders here. And the same with giving way, particularly to rider entering the water. So, is this just me being old school and the cool kids no longer follow these rules, or is it because I mainly fly at super friendly beaches in South Wales?
  4. Monty aint too fussy Mick, so you know, play your cards right.......

    RIP Mad Andy

Loved that vid, I'm not so keen on the picture quality, but the editting, music and the riding, impressed!
  6. I was thinking exactly the same about Aber, always used to mainly land lubbers and maybe 1 or 2 in the drink. It's completely the opposite now
  7. I have to admitt to not being a prolific poster, mainly cos what I'm thinking has already been told, or cos I'm reading at work and not logged in.
  8. I'm a BMW/mini specialist and I see this all the time. Tyre pressures don't get checked regularly and it's common to see rather expensive runflat tyres wear on inner and outer edges. The pressures must be checked often despite having a runflat monitoring system, this system doesn't actually check the pressures but works by watching the speed of each wheel, if one wheel spins at a different speed to the others it's likely the circumference has altered due to pressure loss, if all 4 tyres lose pressure over time, and they will, the system can't know and won't bring up the warning light. I often send poeple to one of our local tyre guys, he's not the cheapest but him and his boys know their onions, they also have a proper 4 wheel alignment ramp, not just lazer pens clamped onto the wheels. It costs about £60 to run the test and prices go up by roughly £20 a go with any adjustments. We also suggest to replace the runflat tyres with normal ones and carry in the boot a small kit with sealant and a compressor. Feedback from my customers who have done so has been very positive, the ride is much more pleasant due to softer sidewalls, and road noise is reduced too, not to mention the cost benefits. KSA is correct, changing brake pads is a simple job but only if you are confident and fairly technically minded (on a mini the service counter must be reset too). I'm happy to get oily and my hands scratched but Im sure there's all sorts of things Moose can do with a mouse. As for QuickFit, sadly some folks have to go there as their lease plan dictates it, otherwise I would avoid.
  9. They live in the cupboard under the stairs
  10. I agree with the big guy to an extent. To me it is more than a just a hobby, it can take over your life in a way. I work for a living but I don't like to define myself by what I do 9-5, and I do it so that I can kitesurf (and mountain bike) when I can. I know that to some kitesurfing could be described as a hobby that they do perhaps more infrequently as those that are obsessed.
  11. Because it makes me cool to power of rad and it brings in the ladeez like flies to a turd
  12. I think that dude is getting more woman than the rest of us, put together. Seriously, I think a woman has shorter legs than a man of the same height, hence bindings might be closer together, also I believe the pads are able to be fitted in a more ducked position (ie, toes pointing out more) as this is more natural/comfy. I read or heard that somewhere, forget where though.
