RobG Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 We are taking a long weekend trip up to Budgewoi next month. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any buggy'able beaches up that way, or even decent grass ovals etc.? I don't think I can go north as far as Stockton - it'd have to be within the region of The Entrance / Budgewoi area. I have looked at a beach near Magenta that looks OK on Google satellite maps, but no idea how slopey it is, what sort of sand, and if the tide goes out far. Any thoughts? Thanks - Rob Quote
jdhot Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Hi Rob, Most beaches you can buggy on it just depends on The tide, the wind direction and what size you are and your buggy tyres try to pick a weekend with at least good low tides and then pray the wind comes to play JD Quote
buggy boy Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Hi Rob, the beach at Magenta is narrow even at low tide. Its not overly busy but it only takes one or two fisherman to ruin your run, as you have to go up onto soft sand to get past them. You can access the beach from the Quay West Resort Magenta Shores public carpark. There is a timber board walk to the beach. It's steep soft sand at the end of the board walk down to the beach. The southern end of the beach is wider and flatter but also more heavily populated with beach goers. To summarise you have to be very lucky to get a decent session in, but I have managed to have an enjoyable afternoon late one evening after everyone had gone home Quote
