jhn.holgate Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Since I've spent the last few days rolling around the house on an office chair cos of knee/ankle/foot injury (non kite related), I've had lots of time to fiddle with the Extraordinarily Special but Not Unique or Better At Anything ( ) iPhone. One of the apps I got my mitts on was 'Time Lapse' - which I bought with the intention of some Kite aerial photography. However it also renders the photos to video... my second attempt at this was an interval of 4 seconds over 32 minutes for 480 shots (which I can have the app discard) rendered at 24fps. methinks I'm gonna have a bit of fun with this... Quote
jhn.holgate Posted February 17, 2011 Author Report Posted February 17, 2011 And another. 3 second interval for 720 shots over 40 minutes rendered at 24fps to give a 30sec clip. Quote
JKS Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 That's really clear John ! Amazin where gadgets are getting these days. I have yet to play with an iphone, but they are standard through all the crew at work as company phones. My old Nokia still works, but when it dies i'm looking forward to biting the apple Made me laugh with this I've had lots of time to fiddle with the Extraordinarily Special but Not Unique or Better At Anything ( ) iPhone. sluggo Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Good job John , nice back yard you have there . Try a 360 degree time lapse with an egg timer and get the whole yard in mate Quote
jhn.holgate Posted February 17, 2011 Author Report Posted February 17, 2011 a 360 degree egg timer....hah, would never have thought of that. Somewhere in the shed there's a home made sky tracker for the camera that runs off a 12v battery...hmmmmm.... Quote
Goz Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Very Cool John, you should be able to do something similar with the Go-Pro by stitching time delay stills together I would imagine. P.S. Re: your injury, you didn't run yourself over with a tractor or anything did you, my doctor was telling me today that he treats an enormous number of farm related injuries where people have run themselves over with tractors and other farm related machinery. JKS Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 I often find Sluggo sitting cross legged on one smoking what looks like rollys. 'What ya doing' I'd say 'Checking out the WHOLE yard' he'd answer Quote
jhn.holgate Posted February 17, 2011 Author Report Posted February 17, 2011 you didn't run yourself over with a tractor or anything did you, I think it all started with a slight tweak of the knee carrying amp and speaker into a 50th birthday bash. Two days up and down a ladder and it swelled up. Two days of limping/crutches and I've twisted the side of my foot. Now I'm rolling around the house on the office chair. Just have to wait it out and keep pestering my physio. 'Checking out the WHOLE yard' he'd answer LOL! I can just see it..... Quote

jhn.holgate Posted March 5, 2011 Author Report Posted March 5, 2011 xyster.net. If you do a search on the Aus iTunes site for Time Lapse, it is the first app of the bunch. Gorrilacam looks pretty good too... Quote
SoutherlyBuster Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Haven't seen the vid yet, I'm at work, but hope your knee if better by the weekend for Sandy Point. Some thing tells me you had better get a buggy tow attachment ready. I can just hear Zachary now, "hey dad" ... as he is tugging at my sleave, "you know how John is sitting around not using his buggy, reckon he'd let me have another go of his buggy, come on dad ".... Quote
jhn.holgate Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 Zach is more than welcome to have another burl in the buggy. If you can twist Kathleen's arm - her buggy is much smaller than mine - might fit Zach even better..... I can just picture Zach tearing past his old man on the beach Knee is about 90% and foot 75%. I'll just have to launch from the buggy! Quote
SoutherlyBuster Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Just saw the vid John, that's really neat to see how the cloulds develop. Zach is more than welcome to have another burl in the buggy. If you can twist Kathleen's arm - her buggy is much smaller than mine - might fit Zach even better..... I can just picture Zach tearing past his old man on the beach Thanks John, you just want to watch Zach rub it in Knee is about 90% and foot 75%. I'll just have to launch from the buggy! yea, that's the spirit. Was wondering whether you would come along if your knees/foot were not healed yet. Isn't the cure for foot/knee problems, plenty of massages, sucking up, lot's of tea and .... any thing else you would like dear ..... Quote
