But you haven't ordered one Slarti

Why do people keep saying that???

Depending on price and dimensions I'm after either an "S1" or what the Buggy Kite Shop call the "S2 Dune" and this has been discussed ad nauseum!

Last place the discussion was at was that it appeared the "S2 Dune" was in fact going to cost more than an "S1" and the maximum dimension of the "S1" was 1.6m in width, and I said as clearly as I possibly could if this were the case that I would be after the "S1". What more do you want!!!

I kind of feel I'm getting people off side here for asking what really are fundamental questions. I am seriously being as clear and straight forward as I possibly can and really don't feel I should be appoligising for what are quite rudimentary and straight forward inquiries but keep feeling for some reason my asking is being taken as being antagonistic. I don't know if your just fishing to get a raise but in my opinion I have been extremely patient and if anything Jas should be the one using the apologetic tone.

Anyway, yes I want to get one of the Sysmic buggies and if it could be here for Kingston it would be really good.

While there picking on you slarti there leaving the rest of us alone. :P:P:D:D

Don"t read to much into the typing, where just taking a lend of you, for entertainment while we cant kite.

! have seen the joel and jasons sysmic and sat in them, they do seem a nice piece of work, (but still like the libre) not sure if you need to spend the extra on the bigger bug, but depends if you want to buy the extras and build it up as you can afford it, just a thought.

Maybe Santa might hurry the shipping companies up to get the new ones to hit the shores of Aus before christmas.

Originally Jas said I'd be able to choose between an S1 and what the Buggy Kite Shop are calling the "S2 Dune" once they'd arrived, though I'm expecting to get an "S1". And no one has placed a deposit. In fact if I'm not mistaken no-one else has placed an order either (not sure about that though).

The last email exchange a Jas and I had was when I was seriously considering buying Andy666's buggy, then buying an S1 with out wheels when they finally arrive, and went:

... so I'm wanting to know what kind of price you could do an S1 for without wheels. Don't forget I'll also be after the 145L bag for the S1 when they finally arrive as well.

S1 Buggy without wheels would be $1865.

I think we have one coming in which isn't sold.

Thanks Jas.

Is that with or without the XK discount?

I had been expecting there to be an S1. Before you had said I would be able to choose between an S1 and what the Buggy Kite Shop and now calling the "S2 Dune" as at that stage you weren't able to give a price for the "S2 Dune".

...

P.S. Later you said upgrading an "S2" to "S2 Dune" would add about an additional $800 (making it dearer than the S1). Is that still the case? This is the reason I have been expecting to buy the S1.

With discount.

Bugger, had thought that would have been before discount.

So that makes it a [saving] of only $313, yeah?

From which I haven't heard back. Anyway, at that rate I decided against buying Andy's bug.

From this exchange I kind of assumed we'd left it at an order for an "S1", and who knows what's happening with the 145L bag. The Buggy Kite Shop have them listed at $70 US but I guess we'll have to cross that bridge after the buggies have arrived. :dontknow:

Sorry there is no S2 Dune on offer. They didn't make or offer them. Looks like a new creation by them.

Why do people keep saying that???

If you go to page 1 of this thread these buggies and wheels were always going to be Pre-order items and not necessarily kept in stock. Sorry if there is confusion on this for anybody.

No, nobody off side here. Remember there is often some friendly ribbings given out here, no offence intended.

What there won't be is any apologies on my part when it comes to Sysmic though. Any delivery and production delays with these are totally outside of my control. These are the realities of our extremely niche sport. Even on a global scale the production numbers of these buggies is a tiny thing in China and will always be secondary. Secondly we make no money on Sysmic stuff!! I essentially do a group buy and donate my time and effort. Please understand this.

Anyway, yes I want to get one of the Sysmic buggies and if it could be here for Kingston it would be really good.

Shouldn't be a problem :good:

because my big buggy is long gone :D

But not forgotten, Andy. I helped Clive pull it up the dune the other day and I was very impressed on how easily those big Kenda's floated over the sand. Was hanging out for a ride but the wind did not want to cooperate. I'm sure you will run into it at Sandy Point in the next few meets.... :D ooops...waaaay off topic....

My sysmic wheels are on their way to me. Thanks Jas. Now I can retire the old PL alloys which I purchased in 1999. Lasted well with some rebuilds, repairs and new bolts. Hope I get them on the buggy soon so I can one up John H.

:dance4: WooHoo! :dance4:

This is looking good (: (: (:

We will have the S1 here so any specs and questions I will now be able to measure etc

Wonderful!

Really the only dimension of concern is the "wall to wall" breadth of the rear wheels (with 8x8 Beach racers). No need to assemble a whole bug or anything, just wanting to workout how far out the sides of my motorbike I can expect an S1 to hang. I've been towing my extra wide Zabra axle around lately and at 1.65m it has been fine, so if the S1's 1.6m width is indeed "wall to wall" then I dare say were onto a winner! If instead it turns out to be pushing closer to 2m than perhaps I'll need to reconsider.

Bags are no problem, we have them in stock.

Great!

I see you have the 80L bad listed on the website but wasn't sure about the 145L. So just the all important: "Emma Chizet"?

OK some hours on Skype to China and we have figured a solution to allow S2 with Bigfoots.

List of Sysmic and prices are here - http://www.briskites.com.au/index.php?l ... _list&m=34

That's exactly what I was talking about!

So according to the site it appears to be a $300 upgrade from an "S2 "to the "S2 Dune" which is right on the money!

(much, much better than the $800 mentioned previously). Would it be presumptuous of me to assume you could to the same "+$90" to get the 8x8 rims as available on the S1?

Anyway, really keen now!

Only problem is that with the "S2 Dune" now at a much more reasonable $1889.10 (inc. XK discount) - and possibly $1979.10 with 8x8's the "S2 Dune"s are suddenly looking a whole lot more attractive. I still reckon I'll go for the S1 though because, well, that's just the one I wanna get!

Secondly we make no money on Sysmic stuff!! I essentially do a group buy and donate my time and effort. Please understand this.

Understood (and much appreciated).

So as soon as your able to confirm the "wall to wall" breadth of an S1 (with 8x8 BeachRacers) I'll eagerly fling you a whole bucket load of dosh :clapping:

All the best,

Slarti. (:

Hi JKS

I got three 8 x 4 Sysmic alloys. I use midi tyres. These suit my buggy needs. Weight, mine and the modded PL. The balance, seat placement etc. As I said, I want to get them on before John H. Lol.

And one last configuration to exhaust the set :s

Would it be possible to upgrade a Steele S2 to be a Steele S2 Dune? I know the forks are only available in Stainless and a mild bug with stainless forks may look a bit odd but would it be an option?

Assuming the same "upgrade cost" this would make a Mild Dune $1547.10. Add potentially a +$90 for 8x8's, and that looks like a damn good buy!

S1 Axle width with 8x8 and beach racers (approx) = 180cm
