chris.d.w Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Anyone know if it is possible to polish up Trampa decks so they have a slightly shinier finish? If so... How? Quote
Dubs Posted July 31, 2011 Author Report Posted July 31, 2011 Yeah a guy at essex kite park had done it. Light sand and Yacht varnish= Shiny! Quote
airjunkie1599968718 Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 one of the flyers at my local spot uses black boot polish it does an amazing job (especially on the edges)no sanding and no residue left after Quote
ArcAngel Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 I can vouch for the boot polish method, it works amazingly well. I was given a demo by the man himself and it has the (over 5 years old) deck on my wasp board looking better than new, amazing! Quote

X-1 created carbon fiber chair worth $ 17,600 so could I charge this amount for them i can only imagine the work that has to go into each hub so from that point of view i'm sure they'll fetch a good price ..... dunno if i can stretch to around £8000 though Quote

GeorgeFromDevon Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 I thought it was probably time to share my setup with you all. one picture shows how i recieved it about 2 years ago off ebay and it was put under the knife straight away. i recently broke a truck so stripped it, trimmed it more and fresh stickers. Sorry about the poor lighting in the pic's trampa 14ply skate deck shortened, trucks moved closer, and lots cut away. scrubb 12mm hollow skates trampa red bearings white twistars green t3's F2 bindings and a soon to be replaced mystic grab handle i love your trampa, i want to trim my trampa when i get one but i am worrid about trimming too much off and killing it it. how much do you way and how bouncy is it? thanks Quote
huckin 18 Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 finally got round to trimming mine slightly.... started out as a kitedeck reflex pro... so revo's mbs ratchet bindings, primo striker tyres i removed a little from the tips and narrowed the extreme ends, then removed some material from under the feet area, by drilling some holes. only had chance to roll about on it but it spins easier and doesnt seem much flexier wouldnt mind loosing more weight, but love the stability of the revo's Quote
nickfox Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 Yep 17 made How many with foam core? Quote
Twisted Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 i love your trampa, i want to trim my trampa when i get one but i am worrid about trimming too much off and killing it it. how much do you way and how bouncy is it? thanks Hey george, glad you like it. i weigh a little under 12st, it is quite flexy but wont bottom out if i jump on the spot as such, i think it bottoms out if i come in hard from 10ft jumps as it had a load of white line paint from a football pitch that had way too much paint, the white did turn green after several months. my board is only 120mm wide in the center, but i like the fact its more flexy as it saves my knees ( use to have the first flexifoil air deck which was pretty unforgiving) it seems that trimming/shaping the tips makes litte difference to the flex so this is the best place to start, then stand on board and check how it sits/feels, then start on the main body and just keep checking it, you can take a lot off but just do it a bit at a time and keep checking. my board sits level in the center when i'm on it, you dont want it to dip when your just standing on it. a jigsaw set to around 1200 strokes a minute makes it easy to cut, too lower speed and you will struggle to make the curves. i do advice rounding off the edges with a sander as i got a nasty cut when i kicked the board off and one foot did not come out and the deck hit my knee hard, now its rounded off it is more foregiving. Pacman Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) http://www.jamespacker.co.uk/photos/Deck/photo-1.JPG http://www.jamespacker.co.uk/photos/Deck/photo.JPG http://www.jamespacker.co.uk/photos/Deck/photo-3.JPG The board has had my little trick of a good going over with some black boot polish. Gives the normally rough looking trampa deck that extra bit of pimpage! Polish regularly to get an amazing shine. The trucks are MBS ATS Ti custom finished in white took a bit of work to prep and remove all the black but worth the effort. The Brackets are the MBS ally that come with the F4 bindings custom finished in black The deck is 14ply beautifully chopped by Flyingfrog. Edited August 27, 2011 by Pacman Quote
