^^^ It was proper chunky winds this morning gusting right up to 40mph for a bit! Even the 2.5 was too much today as i couldn't get back up wind, hope it's a bit calmer tomorrow. How did you get on today Steve? Wish i'd stayed a bit longer now after getting caught in that jam for 2hrs on the A14!

Hi guys!

I'm not sure who I met today, but you all seemed friendly and offered some good advice :)

I was the tall one getting yanked off the board every 30 seconds lol, Hannah also put up with me for about 3 hours!

Out of curiosity, what were the winds between 1 and 4? It felt quite windy, but my beamer wasn't pulling as hard as I would expect for how it felt (if that makes sense?)

It was about 15-20mph most of the time but it dropped right off a few times. I know i had to change down from my 4.7 later in the day as it pick up a bit and i got yanked out the buggy a couple of times. Wind speed is deceptive though, it may feel like it's blowing a gale but in reality it's about 15mph! lol

Nice people up at Lode and a good site. It's worth the hour traveling any day!

haha, i'm not to good at gauging the wind yet to be honest. I could not quite work out what was going on, at times i felt the wind strong against me, but my kite was trying to collapse at the zenith... you guys made it look so easy, efortlessly being pulled around..

Think I might try a buggy next time, they look like I may get on better with handles! :D

Possibly a little optimistic with my wind predictions for the time you were there. I know when i first set up it was 15-20mph but it dropped right back during the day. It picked up again later on though which was good because it meant i could get my 3.5 Blurr out for the first time! Buggies are easier IMO and it doesn't take a lot of learning. Still got sometime before i'm going to consider jumping in a bug though as i'm still trying to do powered down turns. What kite and size were you flying?

@Gradev, glad you enjoyed the Blurr, the Razor of yours was a lot of fun as well but i don't think it's quite as forgiving as what i'm used to!

I was flying a 5M IV Beamer (blue) and pretty much all over the field(s) :o

When it flips and crashes I srtuggle a little. Think im getting the hang of reverse launches though, although my kite is taking a beating for it :(

Who was it that tried to jump the ditch with a buggy and went in it  (GF told me)

That was Gradev! I missed that one as i was at the other end of the field, don't think he was actually trying to jump the ditch though, more a case of not leaving enough room to stop! lol

Was a good weekend was nice to see more people there.

LeonR didnt actually get to speak to you but next time your down if you want to have a go in a bug I have a spare which (if the gf isnt using) your more than welcome to try out.
